We have investigated two polymeric materials for incorporating high-Z metallic elements into ablation layers. Although each method ut~lizes solution-coating techniques, the materials and the resulting structures are basically different. The first, sulfonated polystyrene, which has a metal content of up to 5 atomic percent, is easily prepared and can easily be coated from solution. The second ma...
Maternal exposure to polystyrene nanoplastics impact postnatal brain development in mouse offspring. This work motivates further studies determine the levels of environment.
The impact of a small amount polystyrene-b-poly(ethylene-co-butylene)-b-polystyrene (SEBS) on the thermomechanical and electrical properties blends comprising low-density polyethylene (LDPE) isotactic polypropylene (PP) is investigated. SEBS found to assemble at PP:LDPE interface as well within isolated PP domains. addition 10 wt% significantly increases storage modulus between melting temperat...
Sulfonated polystyrene/montmorillonite nanocomposite (OMMT/PS-SO3H) was prepared and used as a novel, efficient and inexpensive heterogeneous acid catalyst in the one-pot reaction three-component Mannich reaction of ketones, aromatic aldehydes and amines under solvent-free conditions. The catalyst was characterized by XRD, SEM, TG, BET and FT-IR techniques. This method has advantages...

A new and general approach is proposed to analyze the dynamics of a colloidal particle interacting with a nearby wall. This analysis can be used to determine the acting forces even when the system is non-stationary. As an illustration, we use total internal reflection microscopy to investigate the forces acting on a polystyrene sulfate latex particle as it is receding from a charged glass surface.
