PANBIO Brucella immunoglobulin G (IgG) and IgM enzyme-linked immunosorbent assays (ELISAs) were assessed against Brucella standard agglutination tube and Coombs tests. The sensitivities of ELISA IgG and IgM were 91% and 100%, respectively, while the specificity was 100% for both. These ELISAs are simple, rapid, and reliable for the diagnosis of human brucellosis.

An electro-immunoassay technique was used to determine simultaneously immunoglobulin G (IgG) and albumin concentrations in serum and extracts of gingival tissue comprising the pocket wall. Assays of samples obtained from seven patients with juvenile periodontitis (mean age, 18 years) indicated that local synthesis accounted for 72% of the IgG found in the gingiva.

In a rat periodontitis model, preinoculation with the Porphyromonas gingivalis HA2 binding domain for hemoglobin provided protection from disease. Protection was associated with induced anti-HA2 immunoglobulin G (IgG) humoral antibodies. The IgG subclass ratios suggested that relatively lower Th2/Th1-driven responses were directly associated with protection when rHA2 was administered in saline.

Despite the pandemic status of COVID-19, there is limited information about host risk factors and treatment beyond supportive care. Immunoglobulin G (IgG) could be a potential target. Our aim was to determine incidence IgG deficiency associated in cohort 62 critically ill patients with COVID-19 admitted two German ICUs (72.6% male, median age: 61 yr). Thirteen (21.0%) displayed (IgG < 7 g/L)...

We measured rubella virus immunoglobulin G (IgG) and IgM levels, as well as IgG avidity indexes, in serum samples taken before or after 6 months either after infection or after vaccination. The results obtained indicate that humoral immune responses are different after primary infection and after vaccination. This may have important consequences on the serological diagnosis of rubella virus inf...

The role of oxidized immunoglobulin G in type 1 diabetic smokers has been investigated in the present study. Human immunoglobulin G (IgG) was modified by reactive oxygen species (ROS). The binding characteristics of circulating autoantibodies in type 1 diabetes patients against native and modified IgG were assessed by direct binding ELISA. High degree of specific binding by 68.5% of patients se...

An enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay-based immunoglobulin G (IgG) antibody avidity test was evaluated by using sera from 57 patients with acute dengue infection. Overall, 55 of 57 patients were correctly classified (27 of 27 with primary dengue and 28 of 30 with secondary dengue). We conclude that the IgG avidity test can be useful for differentiating between acute, primary, and secondary dengu...

Cord plasmas have a higher concentration of IgG than do the mothers, although autologous, fetal immunoglobulin G is only a small fraction of the neonate's complement. Maternal IgG levels are significantly lower than the nonpregnant adult female, a loss of about one third, which cannot be explained completely by maternal immunization of the fetus.

OBJECTIVE The objective of this analysis was to describe patterns and determinants of cervical immunoglobulin A (IgA) and G (IgG) levels during the menstrual cycle. METHODS A total of 154 women who attended 3 visits coinciding with the follicular, periovulatory, and luteal phases of their menstrual cycle were studied. Cervical secretions were collected at each visit for determination of total...

The reference method for immunoglobulin G (IgG) avidity determination includes reagent-consuming serum titration. Aiming at better IgG avidity diagnostics, we applied a logistic model for the reproduction of antibody titration curves. This method was tested with well-characterized serum panels for cytomegalovirus, Epstein-Barr virus, rubella virus, parvovirus B19, and Toxoplasma gondii. This ap...
