Abstract Scar Crags and Dale Head North in the English Lake District host mineralised veins enriched ‘Energy Critical Elements’ (ECEs) specifically, bismuth, cobalt copper. A limited number of studies 1970s investigated mineralogy inferred genesis these as being related to intrusion batholith. This study investigates geology, mineralogy, composition paragenesis two areas. The results highlight ...

Igneous sheet intrusions are a fundamental component of volcano plumbing systems. Identifying how intrusion emplacement and geometry controls later magmatic processes is critical to understanding the distribution volcanic eruptions magma-related ore deposits. Using Younger Giant Dyke Complex (YGDC), Mesoproterozoic suite large (<800 m wide) mafic dykes in southern Greenland, we assess influence...

Linear and arcuate rilles (simple graben) represent some of the most distinctive tectonic features on the Moon. They have been interpreted to be linked to impact basin structure (Mason et al., 1976), and to the emplacement of mare deposits in the basins via flexural deformation related to the mare deposit load (Solomon and Head, 1980). Linear rilles are generally thought to represent deformatio...

Abstract Southwestern Sardinia, Italy, hosts several skarn, W–Sn–Mo greisen and hydrothermal deposits related to a 289±1 Ma Late Variscan granite suite. Among them, the most representative scheelite-bearing skarns belong San Pietro Sinibidraxiu localities, in Monte Tamara area, Sulcis region. The deposit is typical calc-silicate skarn whereas sharply bounded orebody hosted marble unit. Optical ...

The Skellefte mining District is located in northern Sweden and comprises Palaeoproterozoic, metamorphosed, supracrustal rocks and associated intrusive rocks, which are all host to several ore deposits. Modelling was performed in the GoCAD software platform, using structural geology and petrology as well as magnetic, gravity, seismic, electric and electromagnetic geophysical data, in order to p...

This paper summarises the use of digital remotely sensed data for Quaternary deposits mapping in central Sweden. Landsat TM scene of the beginning of May 1985 was applied. Only six groups of quaternary deposits were distinguished. The classification accuracy of the resultant map was about 50 % in average. Comparison was done with the existing map of Quaternary deposits.

The Yaralujeh vein index is located about 40 km NW of Ahar, East Azarbaijan. The host rock of mineralized vein is an altered subvolcanic body, intermediate in composition. The mineralization of sphalerite-galen-chlcopyrite recognized as intersected veinlets. Based on field observations, textural and mineralogical evidences, the mineralization occurred in 4 stages. The subvolcanic rocks are affe...

The massive sulphide deposit at Kantienpan Cu-Zn mine is hosted by volcano sedimentary succession known as the Areachap Group, in the eastern part of Namaqua Metamorphic Province, South Africa. The deposits were affected by a complex deformation and metamorphic history and represent examples of upper amphibolite to granulite grade metamorphosed volcanic-hosted m...
