The Hartley transform, a real-valued alternative to the complex Fourier transform, is presented as an efficient tool for the analysis and simulation of earthquake accelerograms. This paper is introduced a novel method based on discrete Hartley transform (DHT) and radial basis function (RBF) neural network for generation of artificial earthquake accelerograms from specific target spectrums. Acce...

Wire coating is a commercial method to insulate wires for mechanical intensity and environmental protection. In this experimental study, the technique of computational intelligence used nonlinear wire analysis by soaking in Oldroyd 8-constant fluid under constant pressure gradient with help feed forward artificial neural networks (ANNs). The system partial differential equations generated proce...

Radial Basis Function Networks (RBFNs) have been successfully employed in several function approximation and pattern recognition problems. In RBFNs, radial basis functions are used to compute the activation of artificial neurons. The use of different radial basis functions in RBFN has been reported in the literature. Here, the use of the q-Gaussian function as a radial basis function in RBFNs i...

This paper presents a study for solving unsaturated flow in heterogeneous porous media using the meshless method with radial basis function (RBF). For modeling nonlinear hydrological process zone, an exponential model is introduced Richards equation such that we may obtain linearized equation. We adopt multiquadric as RBF simulating problems layered soils, flux and head must satisfy continuity ...

We review characterizations of (conditional) positive definiteness and show how they apply to the theory of radial basis functions. We then give complete proofs for the (conditional) positive definiteness of all practically relevant basis functions. Furthermore, we show how some of these characterizations may lead to construction tools for positive definite functions. Finally, we give new const...

We present techniques for modeling Variational Hermite Radial Basis Function (VHRBF) Implicits using a set of sketch-based interface and modeling (SBIM) operators. VHRBF Implicits is a simple and compact representation well suited for SBIM. It provides quality reconstructions, preserving the intended shape from a coarse and nonuniform number of point-normal samples extracted directly from the i...

This paper compares radial basis function interpolants on diier-ent spaces. The spaces are generated by other radial basis functions, and comparison is done via an explicit representation of the norm of the error functional. The results pose some new questions for further research.
