Motion prediction serves to improve quality of service for mobile hosts in mobile communication systems. Much work has been done to make motion prediction using statistical method or shadow clusters. In this study we try to attack this problem through the statistical method and ANFIS (adaptive neural-fuzzy inference system) method. In the simulation process, we generated mobile host motion patt...

New software based on explicit Runge-Kutta formulas have been developed to replace well-established, widely-used codes written by the authors (RKF45 and its successors in the SLATEC Library and the NAG Fortran 77 Library Runge-Kutta codes). The new software has greater functionality than its predecessors. Also, it is more eecient, more robust and better documented.

A new selection is made of the most practical of the many explicit Runge-Kutta formulas of order 4 which have been proposed. A new formula is considered, formulas are modified to improve their quality and efficiency in agreement with improved understanding of the issues, and formulas are derived which permit interpolation. It is possible to do a lot better than the pair of Fehlberg currently re...

−A new faulty sensor monitoring method based on an adaptive neuro-fuzzy inference system (ANFIS) is proposed to improve the monitoring performance of indoor air quality (IAQ) in subway stations. To enhance network performance, a data preprocessing step for detecting outliers and treating missing data is implemented before building the monitoring models. A squared prediction error (SPE) monitori...

Microgrids are a highly efficient means of embedding distributed generation sources in a power system. However, if a fault occurs inside or outside the microgrid, the microgrid should be immediately disconnected from the main grid using a static switch installed at the secondary side of the main transformer near the point of common coupling (PCC). The static switch should have a reliable module...

Additive Runge Kutta (ARK) methods are investigated for application to the spatially discretized one dimensional convection diffusion reaction (CDR) equations. First, accuracy, stability, conservation, and dense output are considered for the general case when N different Runge Kutta methods are grouped into a single composite method. Then, implicit explicit, N = 2, additive Runge Kutta (ARK2) m...

Reliable tool wear monitoring system is one of the important aspects for achieving a self-adjusting manufacturing system. The original contribution of the research is the developed monitoring system that can detect tool breakage in real time by using a combination of neural decision system and ANFIS tool wear estimator. The principal presumption was that force signals contain the most useful in...

This paper presents a family of Runge{Kutta type integration schemes of arbitrarily high order for diierential equations evolving on manifolds. We prove that any classical Runge{Kutta method can be turned into an invariant method of the same order on a general homogeneous manifold, and present a family of algorithms that are relatively simple to implement.

Thermal errors can have significant effects on CNC machine tool accuracy. The errors come from thermal deformations of the machine elements caused by heat sources within the machine structure or from ambient temperature change. The effect of temperature can be reduced by error avoidance or numerical compensation. The performance of a thermal error compensation system essentially depends upon th...

We prove that to every rational function R(z) satisfying R(−z)R(z) = 1, there exists a symplectic Runge-Kutta method with R(z) as stability function. Moreover, we give a surprising relation between the poles of R(z) and the weights of the quadrature formula associated with a symplectic Runge-Kutta method.
