We present the second portion of an unbiased survey of the Galactic plane for 6668MHz methanol masers. This section of the survey spans the longitude range 6◦ to 20◦. We report the detection of 119 maser sources, of which 42 are new discoveries. The masers are tightly constrained to the Galactic plane, with only four outside a latitude range of ±1◦. This longitude region includes the brightest ...

Abstract The striped hyena ( Hyaena hyaena ) is an understudied large carnivore with no known historic range map. Knowledge of the past and present extent its easternmost distribution beyond 85° east longitude dubious. Through a comprehensive review historical evidence contemporary records, we investigated presence in Bengal, i.e., Bangladesh Indian state West Bengal South Asia. We found 14 old...

Abstract The longitudinal extents of solar energetic ( E > 10 MeV) particle (SEP) events in the heliosphere are a characteristic important for understanding SEP acceleration and transport as well their space weather effects. detectors on STEREO A B spacecraft launched 2008, combined with those Earth-orbiting spacecraft, have enabled recent studies this many events. Each event distribution ha...

The 1.0 meter f/4 fast-slew Zadko telescope is located in Western Australia, approximately seventy kilometers north of Perth at Yeal the Shire Gingin a dedicated "low-luminosity" area. It only class optical research facility this southern latitude between east coast Australia and South Africa can rapidly image transients longitude not monitored by other similar facilities. We review here main r...

The origins of early farming and its spread to Europe have been the subject of major interest for some time. The main controversy today is over the nature of the Neolithic transition in Europe: the extent to which the spread was, for the most part, indigenous and animated by imitation (cultural diffusion) or else was driven by an influx of dispersing populations (demic diffusion). We analyze th...

One of the most successful applications of satellite-borne radar altimeter data over the oceans in recent years has been the extraction of information about long-wavelength baroclinic Rossby (or planetary) waves, which play a significant role in ocean circulation and climate dynamics. These waves cross ocean basins from east to west at speeds of few centimetres per second at mid-latitudes. The ...

on the topmost central plateau of the district in the midst of a group of conical hills," which with the gentle undulation of the soil adds to the picturesqueness of the scene. It has an elevation of abcut 2,000ft. above the sea-level, and is situated in 23? 59 min. north latitude and 85 ?27 min. east longitude. Originally a military cantonment station, the town is well-laid-out with broad road...

Pelagic clay of the east-central Pacific province is shown to be a mixture of three primary detrital components, reflecting continental source areas in Asia, North America, and Central and South America. Relative contributions from each source area are a function of geography, and this distribution appears to have remained constant over the past five million years, despite changing flux rates. ...

The apparent position of the Sun in relation to any surface is defined by solar incident angle. angle forms vector and normal observed surface. spatial aforementioned vectors determined coordinates, which include: declination, latitude, hour angle, longitude, elevation azimuth surface, inclination north-south direction east-west direction. This article describes detail theoretical model for det...

We present an analysis of a sequence of light curves of the RS CVn-type binary II Pegasi extending from 1974 to 1998. The distribution of the spotted area versus longitude is derived by Maximum Entropy and Tikhonov regularized maps, assuming a constant spot temperature (Lanza et al. 1998a). The spot pattern on the active K2 IV star can be subdivided into a component uniformly distributed in lon...
