For non-isothermal operation in plate type gas absorber, the temperature changes and number of ideal trays can be determined with recourse to graphical method. In this paper there is an analysis illustrating that a Modified Kremser Equation can be used for plate type gas absorber in non-isothermal operation.

This paper describes a semi-active vibration absorber (SVA) concept based on a real-time controlled magnetorheological damper (MR-SVA) for the enhanced mitigation of structural vibrations due to harmonic disturbing forces. The force of the MR damper is controlled in real-time to generate the frequency and damping controls according to the behaviour of the undamped vibration absorber for the act...

A membrane absorber with single magnetic negative stiffness cell usually can achieve a thin layer sound absorption for one absorption peak at low-frequency. In this paper a sound absorber with multiple magnetic negative stiffness cells was designed to realize a compact design for low frequency sound absorption. This absorber comprises three cells or more in which exists different magnetic negat...

We propose novel RH-metamaterial structure of the Z-chip for improving the oblique incidence characteristics as an electromagnetic wave absorber. The basic characteristics of a wave absorber using a Z-chip is calculated by FDTD simulation at an oblique incidence. To demonstrate the efficiencies of the chip, a unit cell like a Z-chip was introduced to an actual computer controlled metamaterial e...

Abstract—In this paper, we present a new type of a double-negative metamaterial absorber (MMA) with a periodic array composed of in-plane an electric-field-coupled-LC (ELC) resonator and a wire. In contrast to common MMA configurations, a metallic pattern layer of the proposed absorber is placed parallel to the incident wave propagation direction. An appropriately designed combination structure...

A metamaterial electromagnetic wave absorber consisting of a big circular ring patch with four smaller suppression circular rings is presented in this report. The metamaterial electromagnetic wave absorber introduces the concept of size reduction by suppressing the resonance frequency. An FR4 substrate was used and the incidental wave angles were varied from 0 0 to 60 0 . Simulations results sh...

A Cr:LiSrAIF(6) laser has been mode locked by using a multiple-quantum-well (MQW) absorber. With the MQW absorber inside the laser cavity, Kerr lens mode locking is initiated, yielding transform-limited pulses as short as 93 fs. Pulses of 500-fs duration have also been produced by using resonant passive mode locking with the MQW absorber in an external cavity.

Abstract This paper considers the response reduction of structures connected with shared vibration absorbers. The two single-degree-of-freedom (SDOF) next to each other are minimized by a mass damper as an absorber. optimum values damper’s properties obtained using metaheuristic algorithms. objective function is taken H2 norm regulated outputs, where outputs displacements both structures. To si...

Abstract The abundance of SO dimers (SO) 2 in the upper atmosphere Venus and their implications for enigmatic ultraviolet absorption has been investigated several studies over past few years. However, photochemistry sulfur species is still not well understood identity missing absorber(s) remains unknown. Here we update an existing photochemical model Venus’ by including dimers. Although spectra...

Interactions between absorbers and plasmonic metasurfaces can give rise to unique optical properties not present for either of the individual materials and can influence the performance of a host of optical sensing and thin-film optoelectronic applications. Here we identify three distinct mode types of absorber-coated plasmonic metasurfaces: localized and propagating surface plasmons and a prev...
