A 1.9 GHz (RF) down conversion mixer has been designed in a standard 0.25μ CMOS process. The local oscillator (LO) frequency is at 1.85 GHz. The mixer provides a voltage gain of 2.133 dB while drawing a current of 5.2 mA from a 2.5 V supply. The IIP3 of the mixer is 5.123 dBm and the -1dB compression is at -5.83 dBm. Detailed design process and simulation results are presented in this report.
Mixer-settlers typically contain an impeller mounted on a shaft, and optionally it can contain baffles. In this study, the effect of the number of baffles on the separation characteristics of the system, and the effect of blade width and inlet velocity on baffles number have been investigated. Computational Fluid Dynamics (CFD) model is developed to predict the separation characteristics. The m...
An experimental study of a balanced mixer based on 2A116A-1 diodes was carried out.Conversion losses were measured in the input frequency range 2450 ± 45 MHz during downconversion to an intermediate 2125 MHz. Conversion loss does not exceed 20 dB anarrow band 2440±10 The amplitude characteristic taken, from which itcan be seen that it is linear for signals up 0 dBm (1 mW). dependence conversion...
The performance of hot electron bolometer mixer devices made out of superconducting thin films critically depends on film quality. We discuss various deposition conditions for Nb films and present their properties for a wide thickness range. The obtained film parameters allow to predict the characteristics of our actual devices. We also shortly present a new fabrication process for Nb diffusion...
In this paper, a 1.2-V RF front-end realized for the personal communications services (PCS) direct conversion receiver is presented. The RF front-end comprises a low-noise amplifier (LNA), quadrature mixers, and active RC low-pass filters with gain control. Quadrature local oscillator (LO) signals are generated on chip by a double-frequency voltage-controlled oscillator (VCO) and frequency divi...
This paper describes a 2 GHz CMOS active balanced downconversion I/Q mixer in a TSMC0.18m process for a WCDMA receiver. The mixer achieves a conversion gain of 16 dB and a double side band (DSB) NF of 13.8 dB. The mixer's IIP3 is 12.12 dBm. It consumes approximately 5 mA of current from a 1.8-V power supply. The 12.12 dBm IIP3 fulfils the UMTS requirements for a mixer design.
