Endoscopic ultrasound-guided fine needle aspiration-biopsy is a safe and effective technique in diagnosing and staging of pancreatic ductal adenocarcinoma. However its predictive negative value does not exceed 50% to 60%. Unfortunately, the majority of pancreatic cancer patients have a metastatic and/or a locally advanced disease (i.e., not eligible for curative resection) which explains the li...

We report a case of large iris melanocytoma in a child diagnosed by fine needle aspiration biopsy. In this interventional case report, cytologic features typical of melanocytoma were obtained by fine needle aspiration biopsy (FNAB). FNAB can be used in difficult diagnostic cases if a good sample is obtained, this technique has an accuracy of more than 99% in tumors larger than 3 mm; however, fa...

Giant cell tumor of soft tissue is an uncommon neoplasm. To our knowledge, its cytopathology obtained using the fine-needle aspiration biopsy technique has not been previously described. We report an example of the fine-needle aspiration cytology of giant cell tumor of soft tissue in a 40-year-old woman, and correlate it with the corresponding tissue specimen.
