In this paper we give a simple proof of inequalities of integrals of functions which are the composition of nonnegative continous convex functions on a vector space R and vector-valued functions in a weakly compact subset of a Banach vector space generated by m Lμ-spaces for 1 ≤ p < +∞. Also, the same inequalities hold if these vector-valued functions are in a weakly* compact subset of a Banach...
in this paper the bagley-torvik equation as a prototype fractional differential equation with two derivatives is investigated by means of homotopy perturbation method. the results reveal that the present method is very effective and accurate.
The implicit midpoint rule (IMR) for nonexpansive mappings is established in Banach spaces. The IMR generates a sequence by an implicit algorithm. Weak convergence of this algorithm is proved in a uniformly convex Banach space which either satisfies Opial’s property or has a Fréchet differentiable norm. Consequently, this algorithm applies in both `p and Lp for 1 < p < ∞.
We show that if X is a separable Banach space (or more generally a Banach with an infinite-dimensional separable quotient) then there is a continuous mapping f : X → X such that the autonomous differential equation x′ = f(x) has no solution at any point. In order to put our results into context, let us start by formulating the classical theorem of Peano. Theorem 1. (Peano) Let X = R, f : R×X → ...
An important problem in topology is to determine the effects on the function space of imposing some natural topological condition on the space X [5]. In this way, it is practical to characterize the complemented subalgebras of Banach algebras. In our investigation, we relate the second category property of [0,1] with certain properties of the complemented subalgebras of bounded real Baire-1 fun...
Replacing the nested sequence of ""nite" dimensional subspaces by the nested sequence of "closed" subspaces in the classical Bernstein lethargy theorem, we obtain a version of this theorem for the space B(X; Y) of all bounded linear maps. Using this result and some properties of diagonal operators, we investigate conditions under which a suitable pair of Banach spaces form an exact Bernstein pa...
let $t$ be a bounded operator on the banach space $x$ and $ph$ be an analytic self-map of the unit disk $bbb{d}$. we investigate some operator theoretic properties of bilateral composition operator $c_{ph, t}: f ri t circ f circ ph$ on the vector-valued hardy space $h^p(x)$ for $1 leq p leq +infty$. compactness and weak compactness of $c_{ph, t}$ on $h^p(x)$ are characterized an...
Let $H$ and $K$ be compact subgroups of locally compact group $G$. By considering the double coset space $Ksetminus G/H$, which equipped with an $N$-strongly quasi invariant measure $mu$, for $1leq pleq +infty$, we make a norm decreasing linear map from $L^p(G)$ onto $L^p(Ksetminus G/H,mu)$ and demonstrate that it may be identified with a quotient space of $L^p(G)$. In addition, we illustrate t...
The Grothendieck compactness principle states that every norm compact subset of a Banach space is contained in the closed convex hull of a norm null sequence. In this article, an analogue of the Grothendieck compactness principle is considered when the norm topology of a Banach space is replaced by its weak topology. It is shown that every weakly compact subset of a Banach space is contained in...
Let E be a Banach space. There are several natural ways in which any polynomial P ∈ P(E) can be extended to P̃ ∈ P(E), in such a way that the extension mapping is continuous and linear (see, for example, [6]). Taking the double transpose of the extension mapping P → P̃ yields a linear, continuous mapping from P(E) into P(E). Further, since P(E) is a dual space, it follows that there is a natural ...
