Body weight is an important economic trait in the selection of animals. The main purpose of animal breeding practices is to improve traits of economic value (Mendes et al., 2005). These traits have close association with explanatory variables such as age, breed and morphological characters. Body measurements have been used in animals to estimate body weight (Topal and Macit, 2004; Yakubu et al....

Small-worlds represent efficient communication networks that obey two distinguishing characteristics: a high clustering coefficient together with a small characteristic path length. Evoking small-world properties in spatially organized networks, like ad hoc and sensor networks, is the objective of Reckful Roaming, as introduced in this paper. Reckful Roaming is a 2-localized algorithm that sele...

In this paper we consider mixed volumes of combinations of hypersimplices. These numbers, called “mixed Eulerian numbers”, were first considered by A. Postnikov and were shown to satisfy many properties related to Eulerian numbers, Catalan numbers, binomial coefficients, etc. We give a general combinatorial interpretation for mixed Eulerian numbers and prove the above properties combinatorially...

A construction of the heat kernel diagonal is considered as element of generalized Zeta function, that, being meromorfic function, its gradient at the origin defines determinant of a differential operator in a technique for regularizing quadratic path integral. Some classes of explicit expression in the case of finite-gap potential coefficient of the heat equation are constructed.

Consider the problem of discriminating two Gaussian signals by using only a finite number of linear observables. How to choose the set of R observables to minimize the error probability P, is a difficult problem. Because H, the Helliiger integral, and Hz form an upper and a lower bound for P,, we minimize H instead. We find that the set of observables that minimizes H is a set of coefficients o...

Don Zagier suggested a natural construction, which associates a real number and p-adic numbers for all primes p to the cusp form g = ∆ of weight 12. He claimed that these quantities constitute a rational adele. We give a simple modular proof of Zagier’s original claim, and prove a similar statement when g is a weight 2 primitive form with rational integer Fourier coefficients making use of a ve...

We consider the class of pentagonal 3-polytopal graphs all of whose edges are incident either with two 3-valent vertices or with a 3-valent vertex and a q-valent vertex. For most values of q, (i) we find a small non-hamiltonian graph in the class and (ii) we show that the shortness exponent of the class and the shortness coefficient of a special subclass are less than one. For q--4, we find a p...

PROSA tries to simulate the evolution of human relationships from simple acquaintance to friendship and partnership. Our target is to obtain a self– reconfiguring P2P system which possesses some of the desirable features of social communities. We show that PROSA naturally evolves into a small–world network, with an high clustering coefficient and a relly short average path length.

Higher order coefficients of the inverse mass expansion of one–loop effective actions are obtained from a one–dimensional path integral representation. For the case of a massive scalar loop in the background of both a scalar potential and a (non Abelian) gauge field explicit results to O(T 5) in the proper time parameter are presented.

this study was aimed to assess the effects of excess boron on 59 genetically divergent wheat accessions and to identify those with high and stable yields under a range of soil boron concentrations. the second aim was to test the applicability of a laboratory technique performed at juvenile stages of development in estimating field boron tolerance. the study comprised a control and three boron t...
