We study embeddability of rational ruled surfaces as symplectic hyperplane sections into closed integral manifolds. From this we obtain results on Stein fillability Boothby–Wang bundles over surfaces.

Infinitesimal bending of curves lying with a given precision on ruled surfaces in 3-dimensional Euclidean space is studied. In particular, the cylinder, hyperbolic paraboloid and helicoid are considered appropriate fields found. Some examples graphically presented.

This paper presents an eecient and robust algorithm that computes the intersection curve of two ruled surfaces.
