A new notion of security boundary is introduced to model multilevel security policies in the scenario of mobile systems, within Cardelli and Gordon’s “pure” mobile ambients calculus. Information leakage may be expressed in terms of the possibility for a hostile ambient to access con0dential data that are not protected inside a security boundary. A control 1ow analysis is de0ned, as a re0nement ...

Current geographical information systems (GIS) are not well adapted to the management of very dynamic geographical phenomena. This is due to the lack of conceptual and physical interoperability with real-time computing facilities. The research described in this paper is oriented towards the identi®cation and experimentation of a new methodological and applied framework for the real-time integra...

The discovery of sulfur mass-independent fractionation (S-MIF) in ancient sedimentary rocks [1] has created the opportunity for quantitative constraints on the composition of the early atmosphere. Laboratory experiments have shown that S-MIF occurs during SO2 photodissociation at a variety of UV wavelengths [2, 3]. The source of the S-MIF in experiments at wavelengths ~ 200 nm is self-shielding...

In the present work, a sequential injection system with spectrophotometric detection was developed for the determination of free and total sulphur dioxide in wines. It was based on the formation of a coloured product from the reaction among SO2, formaldehyde and pararosaniline. A gas diffusion unit (GDU) was incorporated into the manifold to prevent the wine matrix interference in the spectroph...

This present study suggests a method to calculate the SO2 flow rate from a source area to receptor areas on a regional scale using Ozone Monitoring Instrument (OMI) SO2 products, surface in situ SO2 data, and the hybrid single particle Lagrangian integrated trajectory (HYSPLIT) model. The method was implemented to calculate the SO2 flow rate from continental Asia to northeast Asia and the North...

The objective of this research was to determine the effects of elevated concentrations of carbon dioxide (CO2) and sulfur dioxide (SO2) on field-grown soybean. Soybeans (Glycine max L. Merr. cv. "Essex) were grown a full-season in open-top field chambers exposed to either ambient (350 #l L -j) or elevated CO2 (500 #l L -j) levels under two levels of SO2 (0.00 and 0.12 #l L-t). Enriched CO2, wit...

The CO2 capture performance of four zeolitic imidazolate frameworks (ZIFs), ZIF-10, ZIF-71, ZIF-68 and ZIF-69, was investigated in the presence of SO2 using molecular simulations. Our results show that SO2 is preferentially adsorbed over CO2. However, it also shows a cooperative effect on CO2 adsorption. In ZIF-10 and ZIF-71, the SO2 presence was found to have almost no effect on CO2 adsorption...
