In this paper we present an approximation method of quadric surface using quartic spline. Our method is based on the approximation of quadratic rational Bézier patch using quartic Bézier patch. We show that our approximation method yields G (tangent plane) continuous quartic spline surface. We illustrate our results by the approximation of helicoid-like surface.

We present a multigrid algorithm for the solution of the linear systems that arise from a finite element discretization of second order elliptic partial differential equations with Powell-Sabin splines. We show that the method yields a uniform convergence independent of the mesh size.

A numerical method based on B-spline is developed to solve the time-dependent Emden-Fowler-type equations. We also present a reliable new algorithm based on B-spline to overcome the difficulty of the singular point at 0 x = . The error analysis of the method is described.
