This article discusses a method for blindly removing geometric distortions in taken images of rectangular planar patterns (such as maps, pictures, or posters) in the absence of any calibration information or explicit knowledge of the imaging device. Our approach removes lens distortion form single-view images. The method is based on Least-Square-Error (LSE) approximations and Hough transforms. ...

Software compensation of geometric errors in coordinate measuring is hot subject because it results the decrease of manufacturing costs. The paper gives a summary of the results and achievements of earlier works on the subject. In order to improve these results a method is adapted to capture simultaneously the new coordinate frames in order use exact transformation values at discrete points of ...

Introduction: Echo volumar imaging (EVI) is a 3D extension of echo-planar imaging (EPI) that allows data from an entire volume to be acquired following a single excitation. However, only a few studies to date have applied EVI to functional MRI (fMRI) due to its high sensitivity to field-inhomogeneity induced distortions. In this study, we extend two EPI distortion correction techniques to EVI: ...

The concept of tiled displays can be successful only if such displays are made to look like a single display perceptually. The two issues that need to be solved to achieve this goal are geometric correction and color seamlessness of images spanning across tiles. Geometric correction algorithms borrow pin-hole camera models to model projector display geometry. In this paper, we introduce an abst...

Advanced methods of geo-atmospheric preprocessing have become available in the past years and increasingly are applied to AVIRIS airborne imagery. Both, the geometric as well as the atmospheric part of the preprocessing have their specific impact on data quality which should be aware to scientists using such corrected data. An integral geoatmospheric correction has been developed in a joint eff...

When a multi-qubit state evolves under local unitaries it may obtain a geometric phase, a feature dependent on the geometry of the state’s projective Hilbert space. A correction term to this geometric phase in addition to the local subsystem phases may appear from correlations between the subsystems. We find this correction term can be characterized completely either by the entanglement or comp...

In this paper we discuss several variants of the acceleration technique known as Iterated Defect Correction (IDeC) for the numerical solution of initial value problems for ODEs. A first approximation, computed by a low order basic method, is iteratively improved to obtain higher order solutions. We propose new versions of the IDeC algorithm with maximal achievable (super-)convergence order twic...

This paper, on the basis of the traditional design of database for ground control point, tries to founded a fast auto-correction method of satellite remote sensing imagery based on feature ground control point database which brings local feature points as the effective supplement and aims to achieve the automatic matching between feature ground control points and original images that need geome...

We derive semiclassical quantization conditions for particles with spin. These generalize the Einstein-Brillouin-Keller quantization in such a way that, in addition to the Maslov correction, there appears another term which is a remnant of a non-Abelian geometric or Berry phase. This correction is interpreted in terms of a rotation angle for a classical spin vector.

FY-2 is the first generation of Chinese geostationary meteorological satellite. This paper proposes a simple and effective geometric correction method for FY-2 S-VISSR data. In this method, FY-2 normalized projective latitude and longitude comparison table (NPLLCT) is used as the reference image; FY-2 S-VISRR data is used as the input image. Firstly, 25×25 line-pixel coordinates of the input im...
