The effect of thrombin was tested in vitro on rings of bovine retinal small arteries (internal diameter approximately 200 microns). Cumulative addition of thrombin (0.001-10 units/ml) induced a variable concentration-dependent contraction of the retinal arteries. The contractions were slow in onset and reached a plateau after 5-8 minutes when thrombin was added cumulatively to the organ bath. T...

One of the most important steps is accurate impression making for fabrication of fixed partial denture. The two different putty-wash techniques that are commonly used are: (1) Putty-wash one-step technique, (2) putty-wash two-step technique. A uniform wash space is needed for an accurate impression. Nissan et al recommended the use of two-step technique for accurate impression making as there i...

We describe a comparison of the scrub-wash method of Williamson and Kligman and a swab-wash method for the enumeration of cutaneous microflora. The swab-wash method provides a less traumatic alternative to the scrub-wash method and can be used to sample the cutaneous microflora of premature neonates.

This article describes the clinical procedures for a modified putty-wash impression technique. In this method, the hydraulic pressure induced from planned flowing the wash material from the inner surface of putty impression toward the vestibules pull over the gingival tissues covering the finishing line. This simple method reduces the need to using retraction cord in normal depth finishing line...

Previous research has yielded conflicting results regarding the onset of semantic processing during morphological priming. The present study was designed to further explore the time-course of morphological processing using event-related potentials (ERPs). We conducted a primed lexical decision study comparing a morphological (LAVAGE - laver [washing - wash]), a semantic (LINGE - laver [laundry ...
