[1] We use Acceleration, Reconnection, Turbulence and Electrodynamics of the Moon’s Interaction with the Sun (ARTEMIS) measurements of lunar exospheric pickup ions in the terrestrial magnetotail lobes combined with a particle-tracing model to constrain the source species and distributions of the lunar neutral exosphere. These pickup ions, generated by photoionization of neutral species while th...
In this study, we assessed the validity and reliability of 5 and 10 Hz global positioning systems (GPS) for measuring instantaneous velocity during acceleration, deceleration, and constant velocity while straight-line running. Three participants performed 80 running trials while wearing two GPS units each (5 Hz, V2.0 and 10 Hz, V4.0; MinimaxX, Catapult Innovations, Scoresby, VIC, Australia). Th...
semi-active base isolation system has been proposed mainly to mitigate the base drift of isolated structures while in most cases, its application causes the maximum acceleration of superstructure to be increased. in this paper, designing optimal semi-active base isolation system composed of linear base isolation system with low damping and magneto-rheological (mr) damper has been studied for co...
We study electron acceleration in a plasma wakefield under the influence of radiation-reaction force caused by transverse betatron oscillations wakefield. Both classical and strong quantum-electrodynamic (QED) limits radiation reaction are considered. For constant accelerating force, we show that amplitude QED parameter $\chi$ radiation-dominated regime reaches equilibrium value determined only...
We discuss the effects of the δ2 and Lubkin acceleration methods on the partial sums of Fourier Series. We construct continuous, even Hölder continuous functions, for which these acceleration methods fail to give convergence. The constructed functions include some interesting trigonometric series whose properties were investigated by Hardy and Littlewood.
Recently, improved quasi-isotropic limits to the diffuse extragalactic high energy neutrino component have been presented by AMANDA (Hill et al., 2006). In this paper, these limits will be discussed with respect to the consequences for various models of hadronic acceleration. Previous results showed that top-down scenarios explaining a possible proton flux above the Greisen-Zatsepin-Kuzmin (GZK...
Accelerated imaging is highly relevant for many CMR applications as competing constraints with respect to spatiotemporal resolution and tolerable scan times are frequently posed. Three approaches, all involving data undersampling to increase scan efficiencies, are discussed in this review. Zonal imaging can be considered a niche but nevertheless has found application in coronary imaging and CMR...
