A small-sized graphene oxide supramolecular assembly was obtained by the inclusion complexation of hyaluronated adamantane with β-cyclodextrin and the π-stacking of graphene oxide with camptothecin, exhibiting an excellent stability in the serum environment and a higher inhibition effect toward malignant cells than a free drug.

The photochemical reaction of La@C82 with 2-adamantane-2,3-[3H]-diazirine affords adduct 2, La@C82(Ad), in a quantitative and highly selective manner. The structure of compound 2 is confirmed by ESR, MS, and UV-vis-NIR spectroscopies, and the first X-ray crystallographic characterization of an endohedral monometallofullerene derivative is reported.

Beyond measurements of equilibria: An alpha-hemolysin nanopore is used as a single-molecule sensor to follow the effects of different salts on the complexation reaction of gamma-cyclodextrin and adamantane carboxylate (see picture). The kinetics underlying the dynamic equilibrium are studied to reveal qualitatively different dynamic actions of various cosolute salts.
