Cu(II)-catalyzed direct thiolation of azoles with thiols is described via intermolecular C-S bond formation/C-H functionalization under oxidative conditions. Both aryl thiols and aliphatic thiols are used as coupling partners, and furnished the thiolation products in moderate to good yields. The reaction is compatible with a wide range of heterocycles including oxazole, thiazole, imidazole and ...

A copper-catalyzed cross-coupling reaction of epoxides with arylboronates is described. This reaction is not limited to aromatic epoxides, because aliphatic epoxides are also suitable substrates. In addition, N-sulfonyl aziridines can be successfully converted into the products. This reaction provides convenient access to β-phenethyl alcohols, which are valuable synthetic intermediates.

A new series of 4-aminoquinoline Mannich base derivatives were prepared by selectively modifying the aliphatic diethyl amino function of isoquinewith different aliphatic/aromatic heterocyclic primary amino moieties at Mannich side chain. The synthesized compounds were characterized by their physical, analytical and spectral data, and screened for in vitro antimalarial activity against a chloroqu...

The study of meteoritic organic compounds provides a unique window into the chemical inventory of the early Solar System and prebiotic chemistry that may have been important for the origin of life on Earth. Multiple families of organic compounds have been extracted from the Murchison meteorite, which is one of the most thoroughly studied carbonaceous chondrites. The amino acids extracted from M...

Considerable effort has been directed towards studying the structure and function of nucleic acids and several approaches rely on the attachment of reporter groups or reactive functional groups to nucleic acids. We report here the selective modification of 2-amino groups in oligoribonucleotides, through their reaction with aliphatic isocyanates, to give the corresponding 2'-urea derivatives in ...

The quality of wide a variety of synthetic or naturally occurring materials which are used for outdoor applications are known to be adversely affected by environmental factors. These materials absorb solar ultraviolet radiation leading to changes in their structures and compositions. The consequences of these changes lead to degradation of the materials. Bitumen is one of the materials which is...

quantitative structure-property relationship (qspr) for estimating the adsorption of aliphatic alcohols onto activated carbon were developed using substructural molecular fragments (smf) method. the adsorption capacity of activated carbon (gr/100grc) for 150 aliphatic alcohols onto activated carbon (ac) is studied under equilibrium conditions. forward and backwards stepwise regression variable ...

the aim of this research is to develop a silica gel and alumina column chromatography for separation of polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbons (pahs) and polychlorinated biphenyls (pcbs) into two groups. this is achieved by optimizing the cut-off volume of eluting solvent and weight ratio of silica gel and alumina. in this process mixture of pahs and pcbs divide in two groups and simultaneously other...

A sensitive liquid chromatograph/tandem mass spectrometric technique (LC/MS/MS) was applied to determine aliphatic and aromatic carbonyl compounds in ambient air. Traces of the carbonyl compounds were sampled by passing through a Sep-Pak DNPH-silica cartridge. Their derivatives were thus eluted with acetonitrile, separated by reversed-phase liquid chromatography and determined by quadrupole tan...
