BACKGROUND Platelet-rich plasma (PRP) is an autologous platelet concentrate. It is prepared by separating the platelet fraction of whole blood from patients and mixing it with an agent to activate the platelets. In a clinical setting, PRP may be reapplied to the patient to improve and hasten the healing of tissue. The therapeutic effect is based on the presence of growth factors stored in the p...

We have investigated the outcome of arthroscopic revision surgery for recurrent instability of the shoulder after failed primary anterior stabilisation. We identified 40 patients with failed primary open or arthroscopic anterior stabilisation of the shoulder who had been treated by revision arthroscopic capsulolabral reconstruction and followed up for a mean of 36 months (12 to 87). There were ...

Arthroscopic shoulder surgery is a minimally invasive technique that effectively treats certain diseases and injuries of the shoulder joint. Indeed, new lesions and surgical techniques for their treatment have also been discovered by using this approach. Controlling post-operative pain in shoulder surgery facilitates early mobilization and fast functional recovery, allowing pain-free muscle con...

Management of first shoulder dislocation following reduction remains controversial. The two main options are immobilisation and arthroscopic stabilisation. The aim of this article is to highlight some of the issues that influence decision making when discussing management options with these patients, including natural history of the first time dislocation, outcomes of surgery and non-operati...

Objectives: The aim of this study was to investigate the effects traditional interscalene block (ISB) alone and ISB combined with superior truncus (STB)-associated diaphragm paralysis evaluated by ultrasound, duration analgesia, rate complication in patients undergoing arthroscopic shoulder surgery.

Arthroscopic knee surgery to perform partial meniscectomy and anterior cruciate ligament (ACL) reconstruction is frequent and effective, although a possible complication is postoperative intra-articular bleeding. When this complication occurs, in addition to the associated pain, the patient usually requires an arthrocentesis to avoid loss of joint mobility. Sometimes this problem ends up associ...
