introduction:  the  advent  of  dual-modality  pet/ct  scanners  has  revolutionized  clinical  oncology  by  improving lesion localization and facilitating treatment planning for radiotherapy. in addition, the use of  ct images for ct-based attenuation correction (ctac) decreases the overall scanning time and creates  a noise-free  attenuation  map  (6map).  ctac  methods  include  scaling,  s...

The dual purpose of this article is to establish bilinear Poincaré-type estimates associated to an approximation of the identity and to explore the connections between bilinear pseudo-differential operators and bilinear potential-type operators. The common underlying theme in both topics is their applications to Leibniz-type rules in Sobolev and Campanato-Morrey spaces under Sobolev scaling.

We consider scalar quantum fields on the sphere, both massive and massless. In the massive case we show that the correlation functions define amplitudes which are trace class operators between tensor products of a fixed Hilbert space. We also establish certain sewing properties between these operators. In the massless case we consider exponential fields and have a conformal field theory. In thi...

Abstract. The competition between spin glass (SG), antiferromagnetism (AF) and Kondo effect is studied here in a model which consists of two Kondo sublattices with a gaussian random interaction between spins in differents sublattices with an antiferromagnetic mean Jo and standard deviation J . In the present approach there is no hopping of the conduction electrons between the sublattices and on...

The Kontsevich integral of a knot K lies in an algebra of diagrams Ac(S ). This algebra is (up to completion) a symmetric algebra of a graded module P , where P is the set of primitive elements of Ac(S ). The elements of P are represented by S-diagrams K such that the complement of the circle in K is connected and non empty. On the other hand there is an isomorphism from ⊕Bn to Ac(S ), where Bn...

In this paper we develop a Conditional Least Squares (CLS) procedure for estimating bilinear time series models. We apply this method to two general types of bilinear models. A model of type I is a special superdiagonal bilinear model which includes the linear ARMA model as a submodel. A model of type II is a standardized version of the popular bilinear BL(p, 0, p, 1) model (see e.g. Liu and Ch...

purpose : to investigate the effects of mtp-131 on trabeculum cells cultured under hydrostatic pressure methods : glaucomatous human trabecular meshwork (gtm3) cells were divided into three groups: the mtp-131 group, the hydrostatic group, and the normal group. the mtp-131 group was pretreated with 1 µm mtp-131, and the cells were then cultured under 80 mmhg pressure for 24 hours. the normal gr...

In this paper, we determine the $L^p(\mathbb{R})\times L^q(\mathbb{R})\rightarrow L^r(\mathbb{R})$ boundedness of bilinear Hilbert transform $H_{\gamma}(f,g)$ along a convex curve $\gamma$ $$H_{\gamma}(f,g)(x):=\mathrm{p.\,v.}\int_{-\infty}^{\infty}f(x-t)g(x-\gamma(t)) \,\frac{\textrm{d}t}{t},$$ where $p$, $q$, and $r$ satisfy $\frac{1}{p}+\frac{1}{q}=\frac{1}{r}$, $r>\frac{1}{2}$, $p>1$, $q>1$...

We propose an approach for high order discretization of the Boltzmann equation in the velocity space using discontinuous Galerkin methods. Our approach employs a reformulation of the collision integral in the form of a bilinear operator with a time-independent kernel. In the fully non-linear case the complexity of the method is O(n8) operations per spatial cell where n is the number of degrees ...
