Finite PMC surfaces have been analyzed with the help of a commercial software. The PMC effect is illustrated and the amplitude of successive evanescent waves is analyzed. It is found that the evanescent waves, as well as the effects of array truncation, are the strongest near the PMC. The evanescent waves may have a strong impact on the reactive component of antennas placed near the surface.
