Abstract. MacMahon’s definition of self-inverse composition is extended to n-colour self-inverse composition. This introduces four new sequences which satisfy the same recurrence relation with different initial conditions like the famous Fibonacci and Lucas sequences. For these new sequences explicit formulas, recurrence relations, generating functions and a summation formula are obtained. Two ...

Much of the work in con guration management has addressed the problems of version history and derivation. Little has been done to address the problems of reasoning about the consistency of composed components or the e ects of substituting one version for another. In my paper, \Version Control in the Inscape Environment" [13], I de ned a number of concepts to be used in reasoning about substitut...

the physical properties of the municipal solid waste (msw) in kahrizak landfill (tehran, iran) and its changes due to aging were investigated in this research. a study of the components of the fresh msw in this landfill showed that more than 60% of it was made from the wastes of foods, fruits, vegetables and organic materials. next to that, paper/cardboard and plastics, with contributions of 14...

In this note, I discuss results on integer compositions/partitions given in the paper “A Unified Approach to Algorithms Generating Unrestricted and Restricted Integer Compositions and Integer Partitions”. I also experiment with four different generation algorithms for restricted integer compositions and find the algorithm designed in the named paper to be pretty slow, comparatively. Some of my ...

RELATIONSHIPS Relationships are critical to object modelling. It is generally agreed that associations (of several °avours), generalizations and aggregations are useful, although the exact semantics di®er between authors. It is important that we, the object-oriented community, gain a common understanding and, in that context, recent formalisms have helped to clarify the situation: the OMG-inspi...

A stepwise approach is proposed to predict the performance of component compositions. The approach considers the major factors influencing the performance of component compositions in sequence: component operations, activities, and composition of activities. During each step, various models – analytical, statistical, simulation − can be constructed to specify the contribution of each relevant f...

A bijective proof is given for the following theorem: the number of compositions of n into odd parts equals the number of compositions of n + 1 into parts greater than one. Some commentary about the history of partitions and compositions is provided.

In this paper we propose a framework for defining and reasoning about compositions of concerns, based on multivalued logics. Rather than providing a small set of built-in composition operations, our framework provides a mechanism for constructing arbitrary types of composition. Our multi-valued logic model checker, chek allows us to reason about the properties of compositions of concerns.

Web services support software architectures that can evolve dynamically. In particular, here we focus on architectures where services are composed (orchestrated) through a workflow described in the BPEL language. We assume that the resulting composite service refers to external services through assertions that specify their expected functional and non-functional properties. Based on these asser...

The availability of contents and information as linked data or Web services, i.e. over standardized interfaces, fosters the integration and reuse of data. One common form of information integration is the creation of composed documents, e.g. in form of dynamic Web pages. Service and data providers restrict allowed usage of their resources and and link it to obligations, e.g. only non-commercial...
