In this paper we consider the dynamics of the real polynomials of degree d + 1 with a fixed point of multiplicity d ≥ 2. Such polynomials are conjugate to fa,d(x) = axd(x−1)+x, a ∈ R{0}, d ∈ N. Our aim is to study the dynamics fa,d in some special cases.

A three-step iterative method with fifth-order convergence as a new modification of Newton’s method was presented. This method is for finding multiple roots of nonlinear equation with unknown multiplicity m whose multiplicity m is the highest multiplicity. Its order of convergence is analyzed and proved. We classify all multiplicity-free products of Weyl characters, or equivalently, all multiplicity-free tensor products of irreducible representations of complex semisimple Lie algebras.
