An SSR problem has been noticed and caused repeated triggering of the protection. A study indicated that SSR conditions might appear for some network configurations. Thyristor Controlled Series Capacitor (TCSC) was found to eliminate the problem. The paper discusses the problem and introduce different types of protective relays for mitigation of SSR.
