Global warming has greatly stimulated vegetation growth through both extending the growing season and promoting photosynthesis in the Northern Hemisphere (NH). Analyzing the combined dynamics of such trends can potentially improve our current understanding on changes in vegetation functioning and the complex relationship between anthropogenic and climatic drivers. This study aims to analyze the...
Retroillumination is performed at the slit-lamp with the binocular microscope focused upon the object which is illuminated from behind by the slit-lamp beam reflected off some structure posterior to the object (Vogt, I930). Objects in the cornea and lens are observed in this way and the reflectors used are the iris, the lens, or the fundus. The use of the ophthalmoscope for retroillumination of...
Deepfakes, one of the most novel forms misinformation, have become a real challenge in communicative environment due to their spread through online news and social media spaces. Although fake existed for centuries, its circulation is now more harmful than ever before, thanks ease production dissemination. At this juncture, technological development has led emergence deepfakes, doctored videos, ...
We adopt corecursion and coinduction to formalize Turing Machines and their operational semantics in the proof assistant Coq. By combining the formal analysis of converging and diverging evaluations, our approach allows us to certify the implementation of the functions computed by concrete Turing Machines. Our effort may be seen as a first step towards the formal development of basic computabil...
We show that tools from order theory, such as Kleene fixpoint theorem, can be used to define bigstep semantics that simultaneously account for both converging and diverging behaviors of programs. These semantics remain very concrete. In particular, values are defined syntactically: the semantics of a function abstraction is a function closure rather than some abstract continuous function.
This study analyzed eye movements of an esophoric and an exophoric subject using an infrared limbus-tracking device. Converging and diverging one and two degree step stimuli were given to both subjects. Preliminary results suggest that dynamic differences may exist between the two populations.
