The CCD magnitudes in Johnson BV and Cousins R photometric passbands are determined for the optical transient of GRB 990123. These observations have been taken approximately 12 hours after trigger of the gamma-ray burst. BVR photometric light curves are obtained by combining the published data with the present measurements. They indicate that the flux decay constants in BV and R passbands are a...

In this paper, we establish the existence of common coupled fixed point results for new Caristi type contraction of three covariant mappings in Bipolar metric spaces. Some interesting consequences of our results are achieved. Moreover, we give an illustration which presents the applicability of the achieved results.

There have been growing research interests for the realization of CORBA-based network management system for telecommunication network, and several methods have been devised to apply CORBA technology to telecommunication management network. We concern about the pure CORBA-based network management system. In this system, there is no conventional CMIP agent in a managed system. Otherwise, a manage...

This paper gives three noncompact variants of Lefschetz–Nielsen fixed-point theory parallel to developments that have occurred in surgery theory. Thus, we study when a proper map can be properly homotoped, or boundedly homotoped, or even homotoped in a C bounded fashion to a fixedpoint free map. As an example, the universal cover of a compact aspherical manifold always has a fixed-point free se...

The Split-Field Finite-Difference Time-Domain (SFFDTD) formulation is extended to periodic structures with Kerr-type nonlinearity. The optical Kerr effect is introduced by an iterative fixedpoint procedure for solving the nonlinear system of equations. Using the method, formation of solitons inside homogenous nonlinear media is numerically observed. Furthermore, the performance of the approach ...

We present two examples of nice normal spaces X having the property that for some fixedpoint free homeomorphism on X its tech-Stone extension has a fixed point. One of the spaces presented here is locally countable, locally compact, separable, normal, countably paracompact and weakly zero-dimensional. The other one is hereditarily normal and strongly zero-dimensional. Our construction of this e...

We present a new linear systolic array architecture of m cells which outputs a longest common subsequence (LCS) of two input strings A and B in time n + 2m, where n and m denote the lengths of A and B respectively (m < n). Our approach improves the time of execution required by previous linear systolic arrays for this purpose. Furthermore, a design combining a tree with the linear array provide...

where h ∈ L1(0,T ;X) and f : [0,T ]×X →X. This is obtained if one takes F(u)(t)= h(t)−∫ t 0 a(t−s)f (s,u(s))ds in (1.1). Such problems are important from the viewpoint of applications since they cover nonlocal generalizations of integrodifferential equations arising in the mathematical modeling of heat conduction in materials with memory. Byszewski [6, 7] initiated the work concerning abstract ...
