An expression for the fraction of incident radiation transmitted by a right angle bend in a rectangular light pipe is derived. This expression is used to show that, in a planar light pipe structure with right angle bends, light attenuation is due only to reflection losses at the walls if the launching angle is 45 degrees .

The vehicle taillight detection is the major constrain in different scenario like day time /night time, vehicle orientation, broken taillights and sharp bends. In this paper the above constrains are entirely recovered by proper thresholding selection. In final step the system has able to differentiate the braking signal, reverse signal and left/right signals efficiently. These signals are class...

Meandering rivers are common on Earth and other planetary surfaces, yet the conditions necessary to maintain meandering channels are unclear. As a consequence, self-maintaining meandering channels with cutoffs have not been reproduced in the laboratory. Such experimental channels are needed to explore mechanisms controlling migration rate, sinuosity, floodplain formation, and planform morphodyn...

A mixed-gas model for rats was developed to further explore the role of different gases in decompression and to provide a global model for possible future evaluation of its usefulness for human prediction. A Hill-equation dose-response model was fitted to over 5,000 rat dives by using the technique of maximum likelihood. These dives used various mixtures of He, N(2), Ar, and O(2) and had times ...

Reduction in ascent speed and an increase in the O2 tension in the inspired air have been used to reduce the risk for decompression sickness. It has previously been reported that decompression speed and O2 partial pressure are linearly related for human decompressions from saturation hyperbaric exposures. The constant of proportionality K (K = rate/partial pressure of inspired O2) indicates the...
