In this work, the doping of n-layer graphenes with C60 is investigated via Raman spectroscopy. The results indicate that C60 can induce hole doping in graphenes, and that the doping level is closely related to the layer number of the graphenes. Moreover, the level of doping in the hybrid of C60 on graphene (C60/G) is more significant than that in the hybrid of graphene on C60 (G/C60).

The influence of nonmagnetic impurities on the spectrum and dynamical spin structure factor of a model for CuGeO3 is studied. A simple extension to Zn-doped Sr Cu2 O3 is also discussed. Using exact diagonalization techniques and intuitive arguments we show that Zn doping introduces states in the spin-Peierls gap of CuGeO3. This effect can be understood easily in the large dimerization limit whe...

Upon doping, Mott insulators often exhibit symmetry breaking where charge carriers and their spins organize into patterns known as stripes. For high-transition temperature cuprate superconductors, stripes are widely suspected to exist in a fluctuating form. We used numerically exact determinant quantum Monte Carlo calculations to demonstrate dynamical stripe correlations in the three-band Hubba...

Based on the t-J model, it is shown that a hole moving on an antiferromagnetic spin background always induces a phase-string effect. Such a previously unnoticed phase string is revealed by explicitly tracking the Marshall sign and can be rigorously shown to be nonrepairable at low energy. Its quantum interference can drastically modify the long-wavelength behavior of the doped hole, leading to ...

Scanning tunneling spectroscopy studies reveal long-range spatial homogeneity and predominantly d(x(2)-y(2))-pairing spectral characteristics in under- and optimally doped YBa2Cu 3O (7-delta) superconductors, whereas STS on YBa2(Cu 0.9934Zn 0.0026Mg (0.004))3O (6.9) exhibits microscopic spatial modulations and strong scattering near the Zn or Mg impurity sites, together with global suppression ...

Within the recently proposed doped-carrier representation of the projected lattice electron operators we derive a full Ising version of the t-J model. This model possesses the global discrete Z(2) symmetry as a maximal spin symmetry of the Hamiltonian at any values of the coupling constants, t and J. In contrast, in the spin anisotropic limit of the t-J model, usually referred to as the t-J(z) ...

A two-step doping process, magnetic followed by charge or vice versa, is required to produce massive topological surface states (TSS) in topological insulators for many physics and device applications. Here, we demonstrate simultaneous magnetic and hole doping achieved with a single dopant, carbon, in Bi2Se3 by first-principles calculations. Carbon substitution for Se (C(Se)) results in an open...

We prove a "statistical transmutation" symmetry of doped quantum dimer models on the square, triangular, and kagome lattices: the energy spectrum is invariant under a simultaneous change of statistics (i.e., bosonic into fermionic or vice versa) of the holes and of the signs of all the dimer resonance loops. This exact transformation enables us to define the duality equivalence between doped qu...

The single-particle spectral properties near the Mott transition in the one-dimensional Hubbard model are investigated by using the dynamical density-matrix renormalization group method and the Bethe ansatz. The pseudogap, hole-pocket behavior, spectral-weight transfer, and upper Hubbard band are explained in terms of spinons, holons, antiholons, and doublons. The Mott transition is characteriz...
