A new Cross-Shared Redundancy (CSR) architecture of embedded memory for yield improvement is proposed. The model of CSR takes into account cluster errors, which are common for deep-submicron technologies. The redundancy scheme is optimized in consideration of low-power and fast operation. A yield model of cross-shared redundancy for the embedded memory is presented.

We present a novel method for fast multiplication of polynomials over 2 which can be implemented efficiently in embedded software. Fast polynomial multiplication methods are needed for the efficient implementation of some cryptographic and coding applications. The proposed method follows a strategy to reduce the memory accesses for input data and intermediate values during computation. This str...

Embedded devices with web interfaces are prevalent, but, due to memory and processing constraints, implementations typically make use of Common Gateway Interface (CGI) binaries written in low-level, memory-unsafe languages. This creates the possibility of memory corruption attacks as well as traditional web attacks. We present Umbra, an application-layer firewall specifically designed for prote...

Memory is one of the scarcest resource of embedded and constrained devices. This paper studies the memory footprint benefit of pre-deploying embedded Java systems up to their activation using romization. We find out that the more the system is deployed off-board, the more it can be efficiently and automatically customized in order to reduce its final size. This claim is validated experimentally...

We propose an embedded processor-based built-in self-repair (BISR) design for embedded memories. In the proposed design we reuse the embedded processor that can be found on almost every system-on-chip (SOC) product, in addition to many distinct features. By reusing the embedded processor, the controller and redundancy analysis circuit of a typical BISR design can be removed. Also, the test algo...

Embedded systems need to respect stringent real time constraints. Various hardware components included in such systems such as cache memories exhibit variability and therefore affect execution time. Indeed, a cache memory access from an embedded microprocessor might result in a cache hit where the data is available or a cache miss and the data need to be fetched with an additional delay from an...

As embedded systems continue to evolve, Java becomes an attractive alternative to traditional languages for embedded hardware platforms. However, there are a number of obstacles for Java to hurdle in order to fulfill all the requirements of any real-time embedded systems. This paper presents an architectural view of a memory design for the embedded Java systems. By introducing a new static load...

a novel zinc oxide - agar nanocomposite was successfully synthesized using zinc chloride as a precursor. the nanocomposite was prepared using a domestic microwave oven. the prepared nanocomposites have been characterized by fourier transform infrared (ftir) spectroscopy, x-ray diffraction (xrd) analysis, scanning electron microscopy (sem) and uv- visible spectroscopy. the crystalline properties...

In the last years, the deployment of embedded real-time communication systems has increased dramatically. At the same time, the amount of data that needs to be managed by embedded real-time main memory databases is increasing, thus requiring an efficient data management. However, system crash will cause data loss in main memory, which will seriously affect the normal operation of the entire com...
