BACKGROUND The EQ-5D is a generic health-related quality of life instrument (five dimensions with three levels, 243 health states), used extensively in cost-utility/cost-effectiveness analyses. EQ-5D health states are assigned values on a scale anchored in perfect health (1) and death (0).The dominant procedure for defining values for EQ-5D health states involves regression modeling. These regr...

A supply chain is a set of suppliers, manufactures and distributors, which are linked together. The first chain is a supplier and the last one is customers. What is the most important in supply chain are highquality products by the least cost and the most benefit. In this regard, each input and output and intermediate have unit price and unit cost information. The cost-minimization and the prof...

Using a new representation theorem for additive cost sharing methods as sums of path methods, we show that many of the standard additive cost sharing methods (Aumann-Shapley, Shapley Shubik, and Serial Cost) are consistent. These results follow directly from a simple su cient condition for consistency: being generated by associative paths, which can be used to show consistency for many other me...

The set of additive cost sharing methods when individual demands are integer valued and cost shares are non negative, is characterized by its extreme points and by a network flow representation. The extreme methods allocate costs incrementally along a chain of demand vectors independent of the cost function. The result generalizes Wang’s characterization in that we do not assume the Dummy axiom.

Taxonomies of concepts are important across many application domains, for instance online shopping portals use catalogs to help users navigate and search for products. Task-dependent taxonomies, e.g., adapting the taxonomy to a specific cohort of users, can greatly improve the effectiveness of navigation and search. However, taxonomies are usually created by domain experts and hence designing t...

in this project, first we introduced a general rule for the design of drying processes and then, we have applied microsoft excel for this purpose. belt dryer is one of the most common dryers in the food industry. in this study, our aim was to process carrot by this dryer. we optimized the target function (total annual cost or tac) and investigated the influence of design variables on this targe...

In situ monitoring is an accurate way to monitor circuit delay or timing slack, but usually incurs significant overhead. We observe that most existing slack monitoring methods focus exclusively on monitoring path endpoints, which is not cost efficient from power and area perspectives. In this paper, we first propose SlackProbe methodology, which inserts timing slack monitors like “probes” at a ...
