Although nontrivial perfect binary codes exist only for length n = 2m−1 with m ≥ 3 and for length n = 23, many problems concerning these codes remain unsolved. Herein, we present solutions to some of these problems. In particular, we show that the smallest nonempty intersection of two perfect codes of length 2m − 1 consists of two codewords, for all m ≥ 3. We also provide a complete solution to...

In this paper, we provide a theoretical analysis of the nuclear-norm regularized least squares for full-rank matrix completion. Although similar formulations have been examined by previous studies, their results are unsatisfactory because only additive upper bounds are provided. Under the assumption that the top eigenspaces of the target matrix are incoherent, we derive a relative upper bound f...

The paper deals with the perfect 1-error correcting codes over a finite field with q elements (briefly q-ary 1-perfect codes). We show that the orthogonal code to the q-ary non-full-rank 1-perfect code of length n = (q − 1)/(q − 1) is a q-ary constant-weight code with Hamming weight equals to qm−1 where m is any natural number not less than two. We derive necessary and sufficient conditions for...

We make two contributions to the field of FDD transmit processing for multi-user MISO systems: first the concept of covariance based linear precoding is extended to spatio-temporal channels with full rank covariance matrices. Within, the variance true approximation of all signal components allows the formulation of the receive signal exclusively basing upon covariance knowledge and thus the der...

Subspace clustering is the problem of finding a multi-subspace representation that best fits a collection of points taken from a high-dimensional space. This type of structure occurs naturally in many applications ranging from bioinformatics, image/text clustering to semi-supervised learning. The companion paper [3] shows that robust and tractable subspace clustering is possible with minimal re...

G languages provide a basis to infer best-fitting noncompensatory decision rules from full-rank conjoint data or partial-rank data such as consider-then-rank, consider-only, or choice data. Potential decision rules include elimination by aspects, acceptance by aspects, lexicographic by features, and a mixed-rule lexicographic by aspects (LBA) that nests the other rules. We provide a dynamic pro...

We present the full-rank representations of {2, 4} and {2, 3}-inverses (with given rank as well as with prescribed range and null space) as particular cases of the full-rank representation of outer inverses. As a consequence, two applications of the successive matrix squaring (SMS) algorithm from [P.S. Stanimirović, D.S. Cvetković-Ilić, Successive matrix squaring algorithm for computing outer i...

In this paper we study a generalization of Kruskal’s permutation lemma to partitioned matrices. We define the k’-rank of partitioned matrices as a generalization of the k-rank of matrices. We derive a lower-bound on the k’-rank of Khatri–Rao products of partitioned matrices. We prove that Khatri–Rao products of partitioned matrices are generically full column rank.

We present Kovalenko’s full-rank limit as a tight lower bound for decoding error probability of LDPC codes and LT codes over BEC. From the limit, we derive a full-rank overhead as a lower bound for stable overheads for successful maximum-likelihood decoding of the codes.

In this paper, a numerical method for nding minimal solution of a mn fullyfuzzy linear system of the form Ax = b based on pseudo inverse calculation,is given when the central matrix of coecients is row full rank or column fullrank, and where A~ is a non-negative fuzzy mn matrix, the unknown vectorx is a vector consisting of n non-negative fuzzy numbers and the constant b isa vector consisting o...
