graphene oxide was prepared using modified hummers method. stable ethylene-glycol nanofluids containing graphene oxide nanosheets were provided. nd: yag pulsed laser was applied to prepare reduced nanofluids. experimental results revealed that thermal conductivity of the nanofluids is increased with increasing the concentration of graphene oxide (go) in ethylene glycol. the enhancement ratio of...

Epoxy is a versatile resin used in different fields such as coatings, colors, colorants, and composites. Adding nano-scale fillers/additives to the epoxy has valued epoxy coatings for engineering applications, and opened the time of advanced epoxy-based nanocomposite coatings. In the present work, graphene oxide GO was chemically functionalized with starch, as a natural polymer, and added to th...

To resolve the controversy over the functionalization effect on conductivity, we systematically investigate the structural and electronic properties of graphene covalently functionalized with phenyl groups. Using first-principles calculations combined with the model Hamiltonian analysis, we find that the structural stability, electronic and transport properties of the functionalized graphene ar...

Graphite oxide constitutes carbon network with oxygen atoms both on hexagonal arrangement and the edge sites. Structural and electronic properties for graphite-oxygen complexes have been explored using first-principles total-energy calculations within the local density approximation (LDA). Band structures and density of states for the propose carbon 3D models are reported. A finite energy gap and...

Abstract Graphene-functionalized fibers have attracted substantial attention due to their potential applications in flexible wearable electronics. However, these conventional conductive materials face difficulties mass production, which limits large-scale fabrication. In this paper, we report a graphene-coated Calotropis gigantea yarn by pad dyeing with graphene oxide and reduction process, end...

Reports of metallic behavior in two-dimensional (2D) systems such as high mobility metal-oxide field effect transistors, insulating oxide interfaces, graphene, and MoS2 have challenged the well-known prediction of Abrahams, et al. that all 2D systems must be insulating. The existence of a metallic state for such a wide range of 2D systems thus reveals a wide gap in our understanding of 2D trans...

Time-resolved fluorescence measurements of graphene oxide in water show multiexponential decay kinetics ranging from 1 ps to 2 ns. Electron-hole recombination from the bottom of the conduction band and nearby localized states to wide-range valance band is suggested as origin of the fluorescence. Excitation wavelength dependence of the fluorescence was caused by relative intensity changes of few...

The surface of graphene oxide (GO) was modified using [3-(2-aminoethylamino)propyl]trimethoxysilane (diamine), which exhibited excellent catalytic activity for one-pot multicomponent reactions. The newly synthesized material was fully characterized by various instrumental techniques including Fourier-transfer infrared (FTIR) and Raman spectroscopy, scanning electron microscopy (SEM), and transm...

We introduce non-volatile resistive crossbar memory based on ionic liquid covalently functionalized on a partially reduced graphene oxide (PrGO). The write-read-erase-read (WRER) cycles were very stable after several hundred cycles and the retention time of both the ON and OFF states was stable for over 1000 s, indicating that the device we developed can function as a non-volatile memory device.

An electrochemical based system with multiple layers coated on a functionalized graphene oxide Au electrode was developed to measure glucose concentration in urine in a more stable way. Two types of gold printed circuit boards were fabricated and graphene oxide was immobilized on their surface by chemical adsorption. Multiple layers, composed of a couple of polymers, were uniformly coated on th...
