A novel paradigm for adaptation in discrete event dynamic systems control is presented. The general idea is then applied, through simulations, to an inventory system. A fuzzy adaptation module is built from few optimal examples generated using a genetic algorithm. The fuzzy module is then capable of adapting the inventory policy achieving much better results than a static policy.
Let $R$ be a commutative ring and let $M$ be an $R$-module. We define the small intersection graph $G(M)$ of $M$ with all non-small proper submodules of $M$ as vertices and two distinct vertices $N, K$ are adjacent if and only if $Ncap K$ is a non-small submodule of $M$. In this article, we investigate the interplay between the graph-theoretic properties of $G(M)$ and algebraic properties of $M...
In this paper, a new homological dimension of modules, copresented dimension, is defined. We study some basic properties of this homological dimension. Some ring extensions are considered, too. For instance, we prove that if $Sgeq R$ is a finite normalizing extension and $S_R$ is a projective module, then for each right $S$-module $M_S$, the copresented dimension of $M_S$ does not exceed the c...
Neural Network based Construction of Fuzzy Graphs Michael R. Berthold and Klaus{Peter Huber Institute for Computer Design and Fault Tolerance (Prof. D. Schmid), University of Karlsruhe, Germany Abstract| Function approximation using example data has gained considerable interest in the past. One interesting application is the approximationof the behaviour of simulationmodels, called metamodellin...
the author studies the $bf r$$g$-module $a$ such that $bf r$ is an associative ring, a group $g$ has infinite section $p$-rank (or infinite 0-rank), $c_{g}(a)=1$, and for every proper subgroup $h$ of infinite section $p$-rank (or infinite 0-rank respectively) the quotient module $a/c_{a}(h)$ is a finite $bf r$-module. it is proved that if the group $g$ under consideration is local...
Due to the distributed nature of Denial-of-Service attacks, it is tremendously challenging to identify such malicious behavior using traditional intrusion detection systems in Wireless Sensor Networks (WSNs). In the current paper, a bio-inspired method is introduced, namely the cooperative-based fuzzy artificial immune system (Co-FAIS). It is a modular-based defense strategy derived from the da...
an r-module m is called strongly noncosingular if it has no nonzero rad-small (cosingular) homomorphic image in the sense of harada. it is proven that (1) an r-module m is strongly noncosingular if and only if m is coatomic and noncosingular; (2) a right perfect ring r is artinian hereditary serial if and only if the class of injective modules coincides with the class of (strongly) noncosingula...
let $r$ be a commutative ring with identity and let $m$ be an $r$-module. a proper submodule $p$ of $m$ is called strongly prime submodule if $(p + rx : m)ysubseteq p$ for $x, yin m$, implies that $xin p$ or $yin p$. in this paper, we study more properties of strongly prime submodules. it is shown that a finitely generated $r$-module $m$ is artinian if and only if $m$ is noetherian and every st...
