BACKGROUND Access to fruit and vegetables (FV) is associated with adolescents' FV consumption. However, little is known about implementation of strategies to increase access to FV at schools. We examined the implementation of two environmental components designed to increase access to FV at Danish schools. METHODS We used data from 20 intervention schools involved in the school-based multicom...

In this paper, we show that the adjacency fault tolerance for property 2H of hypercube. We also show that the adjacency fault tolerance for Hamiltonian laceability of hypercube. Applying these results, we can construct the fault-free cycle with length 2 − 2 | Fv | +4 in Qn − Fv where Fv is the faulty vertices set with at least two black vertices and two white vertices with | Fv |≤ n− 1.

Rabbit antisera were prepared against the idiotypic determinants of the mouse IgA myeloma protein-315, its purified heavy and light chains, and the Fv fragment comprising the variable region of both heavy and light chains. Agar diffusion demonstrated a line of identity between protein-315 and its Fv fragment against either homologous antiserum. Protein-315 and Fv fragment were labeled with (125...

OBJECTIVES The rate of obesity and associated risk factors in Canadian youth is increasing at an alarming rate. Nutrition plays an important role in weight maintenance. This study reports the effectiveness of Action Schools! BC---Healthy Eating, a school-based fruit and vegetable (FV) intervention, in effecting change in: 1) students' intake of FV, 2) students' knowledge, attitudes and percepti...

OBJECTIVE Functional polymorphisms contributing to coagulation factor levels are preferential markers for association studies aimed at identifying prothrombic genetic components. METHODS AND RESULTS Factor V (FV) microsatellite genotypes were found to be associated with FV levels (P=0.003). Single nucleotide polymorphisms analysis and sequencing of the promoter and of coding regions identifie...

OBJECTIVE A 22-week federally qualified health center (FQHC)-based farmers' market (FM) and personal financial incentive intervention designed to improve access to and consumption of fruits and vegetables (FVs) among low-income diabetics in rural South Carolina was evaluated. METHODS A mixed methods, one-group, repeated-measures design was used. Data were collected in 2011 before (May/June), ...

The genetic variability of the envelope surface domain (SU) of simian foamy virus (FV) of African green monkeys was studied. To assess the interindividual diversity of FV, isolates were obtained from 19 animals living together in a monkey house. The monkeys had been imported from Kenya prior to being placed in long-term housing in the research institute. In addition, a simian FV isolate and pro...

The foamy viruses (FVs) are a genus of complex retroviruses that has recently been found to possess several novel molecular features. There is increasing interest in the development of FVs as novel vectors for gene delivery. As there are remarkably few published studies of FV proteins, these recent findings prompted us to predict the structural features of FV glycoproteins with the aid of compu...

Foamy viruses (FV) are retroviruses that naturally infect many hosts, including most nonhuman primates (NHPs). Zoonotic infection by primate FV has been documented in people in Asia who reported contact with free-ranging macaques. FV transmission in Asia is a concern, given abundant human-NHP contact, particularly at monkey temples and in urban settings. We have developed three assays capable o...

Titration of N- and B-tropic murine leukemia viruses on sensitive and resistant cell lines has been studied by direct XC plaque assay and infective center assay. The titration of cloned B-tropic virus by infective center assay on BALB/3T3 (Fv-1b/b) and NIH/3T3 (Fv-1n/n) cells gave one-hit patterns, with 100-fold less infected NIH/3T3 cells than BALB/3T3 cells. The titration of B-tropic virus on...
