chapter two presents three m-admissible function algebras ab, bd, and sl, to construct the universal abelian, band, and semilattice compactifications, respectively. the main results are (11.3), (12.3), and (12.4). some inclusion relationships between these function algebras and the other well-known ones, presented in section 8, are made via the devico of compactifications. chpter three is about...

We give the complete algebraic classification of all complex 4-dimensional nilpotent algebras. The final list has 234 (parametric families of) isomorphism classes algebras, 66 which are new in literature.

Let E and F be two Hilbert C∗-modules over C∗-algebras A and B, respectively. Let T be a surjective linear isometry from E onto F and φ a map from A into B. We will prove in this paper that if the C∗-algebras A and B are commutative, then T preserves the inner products and T is a module map, i.e., there exists a ∗-isomorphism φ between the C∗-algebras such that 〈Tx, Ty〉 = φ(〈x, y〉), and T (xa) ...

Cubical sets have a directed homology, studied in a previous paper and consisting of preordered abelian groups, with a positive cone generated by the structural cubes. By this additional information, cubical sets can provide a sort of 'noncommutative topology', agreeing with some results of noncommutative geometry but lacking the metric aspects of C*-algebras. Here, we make such similarity stri...

The Kadison-Kastler problem asks whether close C*-algebras on a Hilbert space must be spatially isomorphic. We establish this when one of the algebras is separable and nuclear. We also apply our methods to the study of near inclusions of C*-algebras.
