We have analytically obtained all the density matrix elements up to six lattice sites for the spin-1/2 Heisenberg XXZ chain at ∆ = 1/2. We use the multiple integral formula of the correlation function for the massless XXZ chain derived by Jimbo and Miwa. As for the spin-spin correlation functions, we have newly obtained the fourthand fifth-neighbour transverse correlation functions. We have cal...

Interrelations between discrete deformations of the structure constants for associative algebras and discrete integrable systems are reviewed. A theory of deformations for associative algebras is presented. Closed left ideal generated by the elements representing the multiplication table plays a central role in this theory. Deformations of the structure constants are generated by the Deformatio...

We study the Desargues maps φ : Z → P , which generate lattices whose points are collinear with all their nearest (in positive directions) neighbours. The multidimensional consistency of the map is equivalent to the Desargues theorem and its higher-dimensional generalizations. The nonlinear counterpart of the map is the non-commutative (in general) Hirota–Miwa system. In the commutative case of...

The Hirota–Miwa equation (also known as the discrete KP equation, or the octahedron recurrence) is a bilinear partial difference equation in three independent variables. It is integrable in the sense that it arises as the compatibility condition of a linear system (Lax pair). The Hirota–Miwa equation has infinitely many reductions of plane wave type (including a quadratic exponential gauge tran...

The paper presents two results. First it is shown how the discrete potential modified KdV equation and its Lax pairs in matrix form arise from the Hirota–Miwa equation by a 2-periodic reduction. Then Darboux transformations and binary Darboux transformations are derived for the discrete potential modified KdV equation and it is shown how these may be used to construct exact solutions.
