We consider the canonical map from the Calogero-Moser space to symmetric powers of the affine line, sending conjugacy classes of pairs of n×n-matrices to their eigenvalues. We show that the character of a natural C∗-action on the scheme-theoretic zero fiber of this map is given by Kostka polynomials.

A 'differential measure' is used to cast our calculus for the group SU (3) into a form similar to Schwinger's boson operator calculus for the group SU (2). It is then applied to compute (i) the inner product between the basis states and (ii) an algebraic formula for the Clebsch-Gordan coefficients. These were obtained earlier by us using Gaussian integration techniques.

We establish a Morris type recurrence formula for the root system Cn . Next we introduce cyclage graphs for the corresponding Kashiwara-Nakashima’s tableaux and use them to define a charge statistic. Finally we conjecture that this charge may be used to compute the Kostka-Foulkes polynomials for type Cn .
