The decisions to reduce, leave unchanged, or increase (the price, rating, policy interest rate, etc.) are often characterized by abundant no-change outcomes that are generated by di¤erent processes. Moreover, the positive and negative responses can also be driven by distinct forces. To capture the heterogeneity of the data-generating process this paper develops a two-stage cross-nested model, c...
Every child has a natural creativity. Children's creativity can be developed, because it needs to developed from an early age. Stimulation and stimulation is one of the factors develop Now many children learn who are still racing on teacher waiting give example, so that cannot their imagination. The loose parts method uses materials around us, which removed installed, not disposable, assembled ...
Ownership Domains generalize ownership types. They support programming patterns like iterators that are not possible with ordinary ownership types. However, they are still too restrictive for cases in which an object X wants to access the public domains of an arbitrary number of other objects, which often happens in observer scenarios. To overcome this restriction, we developed so-called loose ...
MukBs cooperate to loop DNA W hen it comes to corralling DNA, MukB is the little condensin that could, say Yuanbo Cui, Aoya Petrushenko, and Valentin Rybenkov (University of Oklahoma, Norman, OK). Small in size but with a big effect, condensins are believed to stabilize large DNA loops, thereby giving order to an otherwise tangled mess of chromatin. To investigate the mechanics of the E. coli c...
Increasing attention is being devoted to the airborne emissions resulting from a variety of manufacturing processes because of health, safety, and environmental concerns. In this two-part paper, a model is presented for the amount of cutting fluid mist produced by the interaction of the fluid with the rotating cylindrical workpiece during a turning operation. This model is based on relationship...
We establish a relation between two uniform models of random k-graphs (for constant k ≥ 3) on n labeled vertices: H(k)(n,m), the random k-graph with exactly m edges, and H(k)(n, d), the random d-regular k-graph. By extending to k-graphs the switching technique of McKay and Wormald, we show that, for some range of d = d(n) and a constant c > 0, if m ∼ cnd, then one can couple H(k)(n,m) and H(k)(...
When representing textual documents by feature vectors for the purposes of further processing (e.g. for categorization, clustering, or visualization), one possible representation is based on “loose phrases” (also known as “proximity features”). This is a generalization of n-grams: a loose phrase is considered to appear in a document if all the words from the phrase occur sufficiently close to e...
We introduce loose graph simulations (LGS), a new notion about labelled graphs which subsumes in an intuitive and natural way subgraph isomorphism (SGI), regular language pattern matching (RLPM) and graph simulation (GS). Being an unification of all these notions, LGS allows us to express directly also problems which are “mixed” instances of previous ones, and hence which would not fit easily i...
We give a covering number bound for deep learning networks that is independent of the size of the network. The key for the simple analysis is that for linear classifiers, rotating the data doesn't affect the covering number. Thus, we can ignore the rotation part of each layer's linear transformation, and get the covering number bound by concentrating on the scaling part.
