An ef®cient system has been developed for the in vitro plant regeneration of Lilium longi ̄orum Thunb. by culturing receptacle sections from ̄ower buds. The sections were cultured on one-half MS medium plus 30 g lÿ1 sucrose, 8 g lÿ1 agar, 5.4 mM NAA or 4.9 mM IBA plus 2.2 mM BAP. A section size of 3±4 mm was found to be optimal. After 60 days an average of 41 shoots were formed per explant. More...

Culture medium and light are important factors that affect the process of in vitro propagation plants. Particularly for orchids, diverse culture media have been evaluated micropropagation many species hybrids. More recently, light-emitting diodes (LEDs) become widely used agriculture, including commercial operations, resulting increased production reduced costs compared to traditional fluoresce...

The micropropagation of Stevia rebaudiana using stem node segment explants obtained from 2 years-old shrubs were achieved. Cultures were established on Murashige and Skoog (MS) as the medium supplemented with different concentrations of 6-benzylaminopurine (BA) at concentration, 0.0, 0.1 and 0.5 mg/l individually or in combination with Kinetin (Kin) at concentration, 0.0, 0.1 and 0.5 mg/l. The ...

An efficient protocol was developed for micro-propagation of Indian papaya (Carica papaya L.) var. Co7. Shoot bud induction occurred on culturing epicotyl segments in MS (Murashige and Skoog, 1962) medium, followed by transfer onto shoot multiplication, elongation and rooting media. Adventitious buds were induced on MS medium supplemented with varying concentration of thidiazuron (TDZ: 0.5-10 μ...

Raising cultures of proliferating shoots of female and male plants of Carica papaya through shoot apices taken from mature plants was difficult because of high incidence of endogenous bacterial contamination. Whilst they were easily raised through culture of young inflorescences tips of female and male plants. There was no difference in the requirement of nutrients and growth regulators for pro...

who recommends artemisinin-based combination therapies (acts) as the most effective choice to treat malaria. for developing transgenic plants with high accumulation of artemisinin (by introducing genes encoding enzymes which regulate the biosynthetic pathway of artemisinin), an efficient protocol for tissue culture and plant regeneration is necessary. in the present study, leaf explants of arte...

background aloe vera l. is an important pharmaceutical plant from which several medicinal and cosmetic compounds are extracted. aloe is naturally propagated through offset, which is a slow and expensive labor cost method with low economical income. objectives in this study, the effect of different media on shoot proliferation of the shoot tip of aloe vera l. was investigated. materials and meth...

Ildole 3 butyric acid (IBA) at 8rng l i induced, vigorous rooting in Bupleurum falcatum L. (Saiko) root culture in B5 medium after about 2weeks, when it was added at the time when detached roots were transferred to fresh medium. The rooting activity markedly decreased with delay of IBA addition after root 2transplantation, and was hardly observed when IBA was added at the 7th day. Stresses such...

in vitro methods provide a variety of tools to supplement traditional methods for collection, propagation and preservation of endangered plant species. in this study, an efficient protocol was developed for in vitro propagation of colutea gifana, a rare and endangered plant species with limited reproductive capacity that grows in a narrow area of iran. single node explants were used for a serie...

Stabilized shoot cultures initiated from crown material of six adult Quercus robur L. trees and from basal epicormic shoots of a Quercus rubra L. tree showed good in vitro rooting capacity. An initial five-day dark period generally improved the rooting response but was detrimental to plantlet quality. There were clonal differences in rooting capacity. The concentration and exposure time of the ...
