Nineteen-month-old white male infant presenting with progressive cyanosis since birth. Dyspnea on minimum exertion was observed. Physical examination revealed respiratory distress, severe cyanosis, normal pulses, 45% oxygen saturation, weight of 8900 g, heart rate of 145 bpm, and blood pressure of 90/65 mmHg. The aorta was not palpable. No deformities were observed in the precordium, and the ap...
Palpable mass is a common complaint presented to the breast surgeon. It is very uncommon for patients to report breast mass associated with palpable masses in other superficial structures. When these masses are related to systemic granulomatous diseases, the diagnosis and initiation of specific therapy can be challenging. The purpose of this paper is to report a case initially assessed by the b...

BACKGROUND Underprojection and lack of tip definition often coexist. Techniques that improve both nasal tip refinement and projection are closely interrelated, and an algorithmic approach can be developed to improve the predictability of the dynamic changes that occur. Use of nondestructive and nonpalpable techniques that enhance nasal tip shape are emphasized. METHODS A retrospective review ...
A 62-year-old male with a long history of rosacea, which was well controlled on minocycline, presented to his primary care physician for routine examination. Physical examination was noted for non-palpable, non-pruritic blue patches of hyperpigmentation on the medial aspects of his lower extremities bilaterally. Recognition and management of the findings are discussed.
The efficacy of suppressing TSH secretion with levothyroxine (L-T(4)) in reducing solitary thyroid nodule growth is still controversial. In this prospective multicenter, randomized, double-blind, placebo-controlled trial, 123 patients with a single palpable benign nodule were included and randomly allocated to an 18-month treatment with L-T(4) or placebo. Individual dose was adjusted to allow a...
Ultrasound is being increasingly used in the diagnosis of the soft tissue foreign body (FB), in particular for the nonradio-opaque materials which may not be visualized with conventional radiography (Fornage & Schernberg 1986). A simple technique for ultrasound guided FB extraction under local anaesthesia is described, and comment is made upon our preliminary experience and pitfalls.
