In recent experiments at the AGS, the E895 Collaboration has made detailed measurements of neutral strange particles (Ks and 3) over a broad range of incident energies and impact parameters for the Au + Au system. Preliminary results are presented for the production yields and the sidewards flow of these particles. The production yields show relatively good agreement with existing systematics. ...

The occupancies and vacancies of the valence neutron orbitals across stable tin isotopic chain from $112\ensuremath{\le}A\ensuremath{\le}124$ have been determined. These were inferred cross sections neutron-adding -removing reactions. In each case, reactions chosen to good angular-momentum matching for transfer low- high-$\ensuremath{\ell}$ present in this space. new data are compared older sys...

The surfatron offers the possibility of particle acceleration to arbitrarily high energies, given a sufficiently large system. Surfatron acceleration of electrons by waves excited by ions reflected from supernova remnant (SNR) shocks is investigated using particle simulations. It is shown that surfatron and stochastic acceleration could provide a seed population for the acceleration of cosmic r...

One of the most remarkable results to emerge from heavy-ion collisions over the past two decades is the striking regularity shown by particle yields at all energies. This has led to several very successful proposals describing particle yields over a very wide range of beam energies, reaching from 1A GeV up to 200A GeV, using only one or two parameters. A systematic comparison of these proposals...
