We explore attribute dependencies in the datasets by using direct and inverse fuzzy transforms. Our algorithm optimizes the fuzzy partitions of the universe of the attributes and moreover establishes if the set of the data points is sufficiently dense with respect to the chosen partitions: two specific regression indexes measure the reliability of our model. The known “El Nino” dataset is the b...

We present a theoretical analysis of the Philips audio fingerprinting method under desynchronisation for correlated stationary Gaussian sources. We provide closed-form analytical upper bounds for the probability of bit error of the hash and verify these bounds on real audio signals.

A multiscale-modeling framework for daily rainfall is considered and diagnostic results are presented for an application to the winter season in Northwest India. The daily rainfall process is considered to follow a hidden Markov model (HMM), with the hidden states assumed to be an unknown random function of slowly varying climatic modulation of the winter jet stream and moisture transport dynam...

INTRODUCTION Cartilage thickness from MR images has been identified as a possible biomarker in knee osteoarthritis (OA) research. The ability to acquire MR data at multiple centers by using different vendors' scanners would facilitate patient recruitment and shorten the duration of OA trials. Several vendors manufacture 3T MR scanners, including Siemens, Philips Medical Systems, and GE Healthca...

BACKGROUND Although mechanical dyssynchrony parameters derived by speckle tracking echocardiography (STE) may predict response to cardiac resynchronization therapy (CRT), comparability of parameters derived with different STE vendors is unknown. METHODS In the MARC study, echocardiographic images of heart failure patients obtained before CRT implantation were prospectively analysed with vendo...

Computed Tomography (CT) scanner technology has progressed rapidly throughout the past decade, with major advances in CT x-ray detection, system speed, and image reconstruction that have resulted in a stillincreasing number of novel CT clinical applications. Concomitant to this increase in clinical applications, CT technology has also experienced innovation to support the realization of high CT...
