The present study used a hydrothermal technique to synthesize undoped and Mn 2+ doped CdS/Zn 3 (PO 4 ) 2 semiconducting nanocomposite materials. Powder X-ray diffraction, scanning electron microscopy, UV-Vis diffuse reflectance spectrometer, Fourier transform- Infrared Spectroscopy-FT-IR, and photoluminescence techniques were employed to study structural, optical, and luminescence propertie...

We discuss some basic issues that arise when one attempts to model quantum mechanical systems on a computer, and we describe the mathematical structure of the resulting discretized cannonical commutation relations. The C∗algebras associated with the discretized CCRs are the non-commutative spheres of Bratteli, Elliott, Evans and Kishimoto. 1991 Mathematics Subject Classification. Primary 46L40;...

We develop the noncommutative geometry (bundles, connections etc.) associated to algebras that factorise into two subalgebras. An example is the factorisation of matrices M2(C) = CZ2 ·CZ2. We also further extend the coalgebra version of theory introduced previously, to include frame resolutions and corresponding covariant derivatives and torsions. As an example, we construct q-monopoles on all ...

We give a proof of the LMO conjecture which say that for any simply connectd simple Lie group G, the LMO invariant of rational homology 3-spheres recovers the perturvative invariant τ. By Habiro-Le theorem, this implies that the LMO invariant is the universal quantum invariant of integral homology 3spheres.

We discuss how the canonical commutation relations must be modified in order to make appropriate numerical models of quantum systems. The C∗-algebras associated with the discretized CCRs are the non-commutative spheres of Bratteli, Elliott, Evans and Kishimoto. 1991 Mathematics Subject Classification. Primary 46L40; Secondary 81E05.

In model-based segmentation, automated region identification is achieved via registration of novel data to a pre-determined model. The desired structure is typically generated via manual tracing within this model. When model-based segmentation is applied to human cortical data, problems arise if left-right comparisons are desired. The asymmetry of the human cortex requires that both left and ri...
