Knowledge of the hardness of abrasive particles that are used in polishing is a key to the fundamental understanding of the mechanisms of material removal. The magnetorheological-finishing process uses both magnetic and nonmagnetic abrasive particles during polishing. The nanohardnesses of the micrometer-sized magnetic carbonyl iron and nonmagnetic abrasive particles have been measured successf...
one of the most commonly used techniques to reduce the corrosion rate of rebar in concrete is addition substances named corrosion inhibitors into the concrete. corrosion inhibitor is chemical compounds that were added to concrete to prevent corrosion of steel in concrete. sodium nitrate is a type of anodic inhibitors that this study investigatesthe effect of this inhibitor on the properties of ...
manganese and cobalt salts of para-amino-benzoic acid supported on silica gel as oxidizing catalysts
para-aminobenzoic acid is supported on silica gel via reaction of activated silica gel and p-aminobenzoic acid which is then converted to its manganese and cobalt salts. a mixture of the manganese and cobalt salts of the acid is used to catalyze allylic and benzylic alcohols to their corresponding carbonyl compounds in reasonable yields using oxygen or air. reactions are clean and the catalysts...
The palladium hydride-iminium complex generated from Pd/C and triethylamine catalyses the isomerisation of allylic alcohols into carbonyl compounds, and Pd/C catalyses the conjugate reduction of activated double bonds using triethylamine as the source of the two newly incorporated hydrogen atoms via the same complex.
Hexamethylenetetramine-bromine on wet alumina rapidly regenerates carbonyl compounds from their corresponding semicarbazone using microwave under solventless system.
The dehalogenation of a-haloketones and a-halocarbonyl compounds is an inevitable proce dure for the organic synthesis and these reductive dehalogenations have been often effected in organic syntheses. There have been various procedures for the purpose and these are obtained by zinc and acetic acid [1], sodium dithionite [2], titanium(III) chloride [3], organotin hydride [4], sodium hydrogen t...
in this work, a green, simple and highly efficient procedure for the synthesis of bis(indolyl)methanes is described. the condensation of indoles with carbonyl compounds catalyzed by citric acid in water affords bis(indolyl)methanes in high yields and relatively short reaction times. the advantages of this method are using of water as a low cost solvent and efficient recyclability of the catalyst.
Aromatic carbonyl compounds in combination with B(C(6)F(5))(3) are able to activate H(2) heterolytically. The reactivity of the carbonyl-B(C(6)F(5))(3) adduct is initiated by its thermal dissociation into components. After H(2) addition, aromatic carbonyl compounds convert into aryl-substituted methanes or alcohols.
A few analogues of atevirdine or 1-[(5-methoxyindol-2-yl) carbonyl]-4-[3- (ethylamino)-2-pyridyl] piperazine – an anti-HIV belonging to non-nucleoside reverse transcriptase inhibitors were synthesized and evaluated for anti-HIV activity. Replacement of indolyl moiety with 2-alkylthio-1-benzyl-5-imidazolyl substituent afforded 1-[2-(alkylthio-1-benzyl-5-imidazolyl) carbonyl]-4-[3-(isopropylamino...
the present study attempts to investigate the effect of thermal treatment at 180 °c for 8 hours on chemical changes, quality indexes and oxidative stability of three iranian common virgin olive oils (zard, mari and phishomi). oil samples were taken every 2h of heating treatment and assessed for fatty acid composition, conjugated diene value, carbonyl value, color index and oxidative stability i...
