Motion Blur is one of the common artifacts in digital photographing. With the population of handheld camera and smart phone, image deblurring becomes an important problem. RichardsonLucy algorithm is well-known deconvolution algorithm. But the ringing artifacts usually appear while the estimated point spread function is not accurate. In this paper, we proposed an improved Richardson-Lucy deconv...

Total Variation or Bilateral Total variation based regularization of ill-posed Super Resolution (SR) problem is well-established. However, the SR image reconstructed by this method produces ringing artifacts near strong edges. Second, the extension of SR Imaging to SR video always desire faster SR reconstruction process. In this paper we develop a gain-controlled based locally adaptive regulari...

We present a fulland no-reference blur metric as well as a full-reference ringing metric. These metrics are based on an analysis of the edges and adjacent regions in an image and have very low computational complexity. As blur and ringing are typical artifacts of wavelet compression, the metrics are then applied to JPEG2000 coded images. Their perceptual significance is corroborated through a n...

After the start of renal scintigraphy in a 32-year-old woman, there was an abnormal view in frame 6 that was simultaneous with the start of ringing of a mobile cell phone that was in the patient’s trousers pocket. In frame 6 of the flow phase, some bright dots were observed, suggesting photomultiplier tubes. Immediately after that frame, in spite of continued ringing of the mobile cell phone (u...

In dual active bridge (DAB) converters, there can be transformer current ringing, especially when the turns ratio is high. It induced by high dv/dt generated fast switching as well low impedance of magnetic tank at high-frequency range. To quantify influence tank, its model thoroughly modeled considering all parasitic components. found that capacitors magnetics do not equally affect and thereby...

This study uniquely examined the effects on self, cognition, anxiety, and physiologywhen iPhone users are unable to answer their iPhone while performing cognitive tasks. A 2 x 2 within-subjects experiment was conducted. Participants (N= 40 iPhone users) completed 2 word search puzzles. Among the key findings from this study were that when iPhone users were unable to answer their ringing iPhone ...

In this correspondence a numerically simple filter for reduction of ringing noise in transform coded images is proposed. The filter adapts to the local image characteristics and has been specifically designed to amend the current deblocking filter in H.263. It is shown that by adding the proposed filter both subjective and objective image quality improve.

Critical superflow, preceding a free ringing superfluid oscillation, induces a remnant stochastic uncertainty in the oscillation amplitude. We demonstrate that the distribution function for the oscillation’s velocity amplitude reflects both the quantized size of the underlying phase-slip dissipation events, as well as the stochastic nature of the processes which nucleate the slips @S0163-1829~9...

We introduce a structured image compression scheme based on a u = v + w model, where the orignal image u is decomposed between a sketch v and a residue w. The sketch contains the main edge curves while the information carried by the residue is mostly composed by microtextures. This split of the meaningful information allows the use of a representation adapted to each structure. The edge curve g...

Introduction Inertial effects are ubiquitous and unavoidable in stress-controlled rheometry. Many readers of this Bulletin will have seen the kind of phenomena shown in the experimental data of Figure 1. If the fluid is sufficiently viscoelastic, inertio-elastic 'ringing' events (i.e. damped oscillations) are observed in the angular displacement measured at the start of a creep test, as a resul...
