Methamphetamine (METH) dependence causes alarming personal and social damage. Even though many of the problems associated with abuse of METH are related to its profound actions on dopamine (DA) basal ganglia systems, there currently are no approved medications to treat METH addiction. For this reason, we and others have examined the METH-induced responses of neurotensin (NT) systems in the basa...

PHYSICIAN LEADERS ARE CHALLENGED WITH leading highly capable individuals who are used to success and independence. Success within the field is generally defined by individual expertise and not that of a collective enterprise. Although that philosophy might be changing through a slow culture shift, it would be safe to say that, by training alone, physicians are encouraged to take individual resp...

Reported is a factorization theorem for large-s behavior of total cross sections obtained in a straightforward fashion from ordinary perturbation theory. The theorem extends the standard factorization results for the Bjorken and Drell-Yan processes. The obtaining of useful evolution equations is found to be problematic. A by-product is a direct method for systematic calculations of the parton e...

We study the linearized elasticity system and the dependence of the displacement on a small parameter ε characterizing the length and the size of the period of the constitutive elements (bars or layers) of the structure. We show that, when ε → 0, the structure becomes equivalent to a beam governed by the Bernoulli law.

Abstract—in this paper we are proposing continuous mathematical modeling for describing the economic behavior and the relations between its components, as a system of PDEs. We deduced two algorithmic procedures, which allow us to forecast and simulate the economic behavior as a whole (GDP) and the impacts of each component on the other components. We have shown results, which support our hypoth...
