Shah-Waardenburg syndrome (SWS) is a neurocristopathy and is characterized by Hirschsprung's disease (HD), deafness, and depigmentation of hairs, skin, and iris. Is a very rare congenital disorder with variable clinical expression. This report describes a 4-day-old male newborn with Waardenburg's syndrome associated with aganglionosis of the colon and terminal ileum, and review the relevant lit...

The Mumford-Shah functional for image segmentation is an original approach of the image segmentation problem, based on a minimal energy criterion. Its minimization can be seen as a free discontinuity problem and is based on Γ-convergence and bounded variation functions theories. Some new regularization results, make possible to imagine a finite element resolution method. In a first time, the Mu...

In this paper, we consider minimizing the Mumford-Shah functional over two-valued functions in the plane. Existence of minimizers is straightforward and we show that the edge set of any zninimizer is a finite union of C curves.

The preservation properties of Gieseker stability and semistability under the Fourier transform of Mukai are discussed. A fundamental lemma is proved describing the degree of sheaves whose Fourier transforms are concentrated in degrees 0 or 2. This is used to prove results about the behaviour of both Gieseker stability and Mumford-Takemoto stability under the Fourier transform.

this essay approaches the challenges of global translation in the 21st century from what might still be considered a somewhat uncommon example: a direct translation of ismail kadaré's 1978 novel prill e thyër (broken april) from the original albanian into brazilian portuguese in 2001. not only does it examine and compare lexical elements in the source and target texts and the usage of translato...

We propose a novel image segmentation model, called the Semi-Supervised Subspace Mumford-Shah model, which incorporates subspace clustering techniques into a Mumford-Shah model to solve texture segmentation problems. While the natural unsupervised approach to learn a feature subspace can easily be trapped in a local solution, we propose a novel semi-supervised optimization algorithm that makes ...

We propose a novel convex prior for multilabel optimization which allows to impose arbitrary distances between labels. Only symmetry, d(i, j) ≥ 0 and d(i, i) = 0 are required. In contrast to previous grid based approaches for the nonmetric case, the proposed prior is formulated in the continuous setting avoiding grid artifacts. In particular, the model is easy to implement, provides a convex re...
