Abstract This article aims to investigate the identity of Socrates, compiler AP 14.1-64 (arithmetic problems and riddles). Leaving aside traditional, but very uncertain, identification with Socrates epigrammatist (D.L. 2.47), it is shown that chronological conjecture by Carcopino 1926 (late 1st century BC -2nd AD ) no longer holds. A wider time frame established (1st-4th centuries ), although e...
The subject of the ethical vocation of Nietzsche’s thinking is arousing increasing interest in the history of the ethics of the analytic tradition. Recent studies have sought above all to dissolve the conflicts that arise from the attempt to reconcile his open immoralism with his project of revaluing all values. According to John Rawls, Nietzsche is a moral elitist: the value that he attributes...
it over and proceed!" In that light, some might query the prominence given the glossary that precedes the text. Second, while the body of Ross's narrative appears faithful to the original, several dates have been corrected and some changes made in spelling and in reference style, all reasonable alterations except that they pass unremarked. Ross was born in 1857 in India amidst the drama of the ...
according to cheng (1999), in recent esl/efl literature, asian (especially east asian) learners of english as a foreign/second language have been arguably reported as reticent and passive learners. the most common allegations are that these students are reluctant to participate in classroom discourse; they are unwilling to give responses; they do not ask questions; and they are passive and over...
the current thesis is composed in five chapters in the following fashion: chapter two encompasses the applied framework of the project in details; the methodology of carl gustav jung to explain the process of individuation, the major archetypes and their attributes and his techniques to assess the mind’s strata are all explained. moreover, the austrian psychoanalysts, heinz kohut’s models of a...
this thesis is based upon the works of samuel beckett. one of the greatest writers of contemporary literature. here, i have tried to focus on one of the main themes in becketts works: the search for the real "me" or the real self, which is not only a problem to be solved for beckett man but also for each of us. i have tried to show becketts techniques in approaching this unattainable goal, base...

We have expressed recombinant RNase P protein from Escherichia coli in high yield. A hexahistidine sequence at the amino terminus allowed protein purification in a single step. Mass spectrometry confirmed the molecular weight of the purified protein and indicated a purity of > 95%. Protein functionality was demonstrated by reconstitution of active holoenzyme.
Site-specific fluorescent labeling of proteins in vivo remains one of the most powerful techniques for imaging complex processes in live cells. Although fluorescent proteins in many colors are useful tools for tracking expression and localization of fusion proteins in cells, these relatively large tags (>220 aa) can perturb protein folding, trafficking and function. Much smaller genetically enc...
