Sorbus cambrensis, WELSH WHITEBEAM, is described and illustrated. It a member of subgenus Aria unusual in being pentaploid. endemic to six sites the eastern Brecon Beacons, Wales, ‘Endangered.’ was first noted as ‘large-leaved S. porrigentiformis’ 1970s 2009. closely related another pentaploid, stenophylla, both which may be derived from hybridisation between rupicola unknown members Aria.

Sorbus torminalis (WILD SERVICE TREE) is described and illustrated. It a species relatively isolated from its relatives, but role as parental taxon of hybridogenic noted. Notes on usage, cultivation propagation are included.
